Cab from Pop to WL - 5 people and luggage

We're staying over one night at Pop before our package begins at WL. I know you can have bell services transfer your luggage when doing a split stay, but I've heard it can literally take all day to get your stuff. We plan on leaving Pop early in the morning, check-in/drop luggage at WL front desk and hit the parks as soon as possible. I prefer knowing that my luggage is already there, as opposed to wondering about it while I am at the parks.

How easy is it to get a cab at Pop, especially a van or similar that can hold 4 adults, one 8 year old and all our luggage (one medium suitcase each and carry ons)? How much approximately would it be? I'm not that familiar with Pop, so I'm not sure how far it is from WL.

Any info or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I'd call Bell Services before you leave your room at POP so they can get a taxi van for you. I'm not sure how much it would cost though. They usually arrive pretty quick once they are called.

I took a regular taxi from POR to AKL one night and it was 21.00, I think. Or was it 24.00? Either way I know it was over 20.00 but under 25.00. There weren't any hanging around POR. Bell Services called one for me.

I wonder if you could save money by calling a regular taxi and having the 8 year old and one adult just go to the parks while the rest of you deal with getting all the luggage moved and checked into WL? Or do you need to get your tickets from WL first? I guess in that case it wouldn't matter, all of you would have to go to WL first.

Using the fare estimator at mearstransportation.com, the fare from Pop to Wilderness Lodge is approximately $14.54

I believe the fare for a van vs a regular cab is the same. If there isn't a van waiting outside the check-in area at Pop, Bell Services will gladly call one for you. Don't call a cab from the phone book. Friends of mine did that and ended up getting lost from CBR to WWoS, which is about 2 miles apart.

We had a van cab from YC to POP....very close to each other, it was about $10 with tip. There were only three of us....that's what was sitting there waiting, and that's what we were directed to by Bell Services.
I also would suggest sending some adults and any kids to the park, while two adults remain at POP to get a cab and take the bags to WL.
