Cab Fare?

I haven't had the opportunity to ever take a cab anywhere so excuse my ignorance.
I am interested in how much (approximately) a Cab ride from Universal to Rodeway Inn on International Drive (about one mile away) would be.
How do they charge? By passenger? By Mile?
I am driving to Orlando and don't want to get stuck in another closing time after Mardi Gras Saturday Night Traffic Jam. So I'll take the Hotel shuttle over and Taxi back to Hotel.
Good Idea or not?
Plus it will also allow for the indulgence into the adult beverage part of the Mardi Gras experience.

If you are driving & have a car, I would stick with my own car instead of a taxi. They can be very expensive & not worth it unless you had no other choice. Unless you plan on drinking..then any amount of money to save a life is worth it.
