does anyone know how much it would cost to take a cab to downtown disney from the orlando airport? 2 adults, 2 children. and i assume children need to be in car seats? and if we don't have car seats, then what? any other means of transportation to downtown disney? we just want to check it out the night before the cruise...any ideas & suggestions greatly appreciated! thank you! :wave2:

I would think it would be cheaper to rent a car for the evening and drive yourself - but I'm not sure. I would look into renting a compact or economy car. That also gives you the freedom to stop at the grocery store to pick up sodas/alcohol or any other last minutes items you may have forgotten.

good point, but then, we'd have to deal with parking & car seats, & what not, and we really didn't want to deal with that. do you know if florida has a car seat law? i assume every state does, right?

thank you for the tips on picking up sodas/alcohol. we don't really drink sodas or alcohol, so we won't need that, but maybe water...

just wanted to go to downtown disney to browse & check out the place, and have dinner. then back to the hotel to sleep till the next morning! cruise day!

again, any tips & ideas greatly appreciated! thank you! :wave2:

I betcha Mears would take you there! OR, they can drop you off at OKW or SSR and you can take the boat launch over to DTD.

Rent a car for the day ($50). THe shuttle services to WDW from MCO would have run three of us OVER $100 round trip. Yikes!!!:scared1:

I don't know if this is a feasible option, but maybe a towncar company like a Tiffany or a ******** might do it. With a coupon and all, we went from MCO to DTD and a return trip from WDW to MCO for $72 on Tiffany.

Then again, we spent the night there at DTD before the cruise, which I highly recommend. We shopped a littlle, had a rainforest cafe dinner, and hung out.

Well, there are only two of us. So Mears is a value. I don't mind the wait if I'm going to save money.

According to the Orlando Airport web site, you can expect cab fare to be about $50 in each direction. Renting a car would definitely be cheaper.

We just booked a one day full size car rental for $46. It is cheaper and easier to rent a car. You can make any last minute stops at stores and DTD is very easy to get to from the airport.
