I am booking 2 rooms with tickets, dining for 2 different familys. I used Disney site and have a quote. I called 2 different CAA offices. One said CAA prices will not be out until Aug 17. The other CAA office quoted me a figure and I said that it was higher than Disney, "Oh, I must have made a mistake, I will call you back" I am still waiting. One of the familys has CAA and the other doesn't (they don't want it) will both familys get the CAA rate.

Has anybody used CAA and gotten a better rate. If Disney comes out with a new price code or free dining will CAA discount the package. Are there any other advantages to using CAA over Disney direct.

Well that doesn't make all that much sense at all. Packages were released this previous monday so I'd assume that the CAA agent you spoke to didn't know what was going on. I would call back untill you get an agent you like then ask them to call the CAA booking line untill they get someone on the phone that knows what they're talking to.

And yes, I think booking through CAA/AAA should work out for you. I've booked the basic package through my local agent and without discount it's only $20 more then booking through Disney direct (I assume the 20 bux is a service charge of some sort). As soon as I can apply the CAA discount (my agent is on vacation, oh the irony) the price should be well below what Disney is offering.

Come to think of it, if you're not finding anyone at CAA that you like then try contacting one of the AAA agents on the boards here. All the reservations are made through the same people and paid with american dollars so I can't imagine it would be any trouble internationally.

Good luck with you trip! :moped: :moped: :moped:

I usually get a slightly better price by calling and asking Disney for the CAA rate then from I have been able to get from CAA iteself, like AMPS I have always found about a $20 per night difference.

But the TAs there can be helpful if you need travel advice with flights etc so it might be a good option if you need some help.

I called Disney reservations directly and was able to get the CAA/AAA rate for our upcoming trip with no difficulties. Disney even put my CAA number in their reservation system. There were no additional charges (other than LD rates) for calling Disney reservations.

Bonny

I called a different CAA and she quoted me a price. I also have a quote from a Canadian Disney Specialist and her price was $40 more than CAA. CAA will not reduce the package if they have any new rate code or free dining. Since Disney has offered free dining for the past 2 years, I hope they do that again and that would save a GREAT deal of money. The couple without CAA would have pay the regular price. The only difference I can see CAA/AAA offer 10% discount at Downtown Disney stores, discount on certain Downtown restaurants (if on dining plan wouldn't be eating there), free parking (flying so don't need that), luggage tag (will be getting one).

She said Disney is having problems with their computers for pricing.

I forgot all about my CAA card when I booked my package thru Disney. :sad2:
Already paid through my credit card. Any chance I can ask now for the CAA discount to be applied? I'm probably out of luck??

Yes you can apply any discount after you have booked. Even if you have paid in full you can still apply the CAA code.
Give them a call!

I called reservations and was told NO CAA discount because.... I purchased a package + booked online. I'm a rookie at all this!

Can you cancel and rebook on the phone, and then transfer your deposit to the new ressie? I am not 100% familar with packages, I have never booked one but it is just a thought to check out.

When you call WDW reservations and use CAA for a discount it is for room only. There is no discount on packages. I called last January on the off chance there would be a room at Pop Century with a CAA discount for Feburary and there was. When I asked about adding the dining plan I was told that it would then be a package and therefore there would be no discount. I booked the room with the CAA discount and decided not to do the dining plan. I believe packages are discounted when you book through CAA but then you don't have control of your reservation if a better deal comes along.

CAA seems to get a mostly bad rap on these boards. So far (knock on wood), I have been very pleased with my TA. The rate she quoted me was far better than the rate Disney quoted me on the phone and the rate that one of the disney travel specialist places quoted me. And BTW both the disney quote (which I got right away on the phone) and the quote I received a few days later via email from the "disney TA specialist" was exactly the same, down to the penny. CAA TA did tell me that if a better offer comes along, I will be able to use it.
