CAA discount?

I was reading that CAA members can get a discount at disney resorts. Does anyone know if this is a fact and if so how do you go about booking it. Do you just tell them on the phone and show your card when you arrive? I am assuming there are only a few rooms per day so is it on a first come first server basis on booking or arrival?

We saved approx $400 US in booking with CAA this year for our upcoming trip. We booked thru a CAA agent in London, Ontario because we found this to be easiest for us, she has been excellent. If you want her name PM me. TTFN kat

You can also book your room only direct through Disney. When you phone to book your room just tell the CM that you want to get the CAA discount or as they often know it as the AAA. They will just ask for your # and apply the discount accordingly.

It was quite a while ago, but we did book our Disney hopper passes through CAA, we did save quite a bit of money by doing to that, but I don't remember how much it was. So I would have to say that saving with CAA for Disney is a fact.

I book room-only with the CAA discount. Just call Disney direct, tell them it's room only, and ask if they have any rooms available at CAA (if the CM seems confused, remind them it's Canadian "triple A") rates for your stay for your resort. I book about six months in advance for mid-December (still value season) and have never been shut out for availability at CAA rates.

You don't have to give your CAA number over the phone, but you will have to show your member card, in the same name as the reservation (or maybe it just has to be one of the people actually staying in the room) at check-in. If you don't have your card, you'll be charged the full rate for the room. Having your member number is not good enough... they do not have access to the CAA membership database to check on it. So don't forget your card!

BTW, if you book room only with the CAA discount, you don't get the special perks that you get by booking a package through a CAA travel agent... the Diamond parking lot and the storytime thing. Just the discount. Still well worth it for us.

Not sure about the "story time thing", but the diamond parking was quite handy. You get a pass to keep in your car that allows you into the AAA diamond parking area which is quite close to the entrances of the various parks.

Well, I haven't ever BOOKED the package so all I know about these perks is what's on the CAA site... here's the list of special deals you get by booking through CAA (as opposed to booking yourself, using a CAA discount), as listed on CAA Maritimes site:

If you read the fine print on all the discounts it's usually one or the other - they don't let you 'stack' them.

Dianna, could you explain to me how come AAA members on the other boards are saying its wonderfull "we booked with AAA and applied the code" and save even more????????????????????

Maybe Canadians can't ????? Only Unites States residents??????

Storytelling time is in Magic Kingdom, AAA lounge, with disney characters telling the story. You only can get this event voucher if you book with CAA.

The benefits booking with CAA is not only save your money, also you can get Diamond discount card & VIP parking voucher, Planet hollywood meal voucher, photo pass, etc.

Just call the number back of your CAA card.
