I think people don't always realize a mask is more protective of the public when it is worn by the person exposing people to the illness. Even if I am wearing a mask, if I am near someone who is ill and coughing, the mask only protects me about 45%, where as if the person coughing is wearing the mask, it protects me 95%. Which is why I prefer others wear the masks too. When I am wearing a mask, I'm not doing it because I am afraid of getting it, I am afraid of giving it.maybe. I’m just not excited to be crammed indoors with a huge crowd of strangers during the first week or so of this change. There are a lot of other places I’d be more comfortable. And the cost of canceling is not significant.
You’re right that they have to go at some point, but it’ll still be awhile for me until I attend an indoor event with an unmasked crowd.
