I am not saying that they don't deserve it but ouch here is what we will have to pay per person for tips...
Position 14 day
Restaurant Server $51.00
Restaurant Assistant Server $37.50
Head Server $13.00
Stateroom Host(ess) $50.50

Not only to I need to save up to pay for the cruise! I will need to save up to pay for the tips:smooth:

Multiply your figures by 3 people in our family and that comes to $456.00! I guess I better work and extra couple of days to pay for the tips!;)

I think my shore excursions will probably top that bill!::yes::

If it makes you feel any better, we have 5 in our family. Thats $760 in tips ~ not including room service, spa, palos and baggage porters! Whoe!

Asked reams if you can 'pre charge' the tips, in the UK our operators do usually include thease and as the pound dollar rate is strong wanted to pay up front.

Dreams say cannot be done at this time.

I usually book with a UK travel agent so the tips are included. What I am going to do is get the dollars now (or if the rate goes up slightly!) and put them in an envelope safely and forget about them till the cruise! I wish I could do the repositioning cruises but as a teacher I'll be at work! Particularly irksome as it would only cost $200 extra for both of as the 7 day! We're going on the 23rd july 7 day in 2005.

wendym, Thanks for that, it was nice that Virgin included all tips last time, and we just received vouchers in our room on the last day.

I just want to budget and exclude the exchange rate issue sooner rather than later.

Notes is an option but the exchange rates for them are far worse than on credit cards.

As far as I am aware my kids will get back before school starts!
We go back a little later down here.

Yes we go back usually about the 20th August - I do envy you! Understand about the credit card issue - I've heard about people prepurchasing stateroom credit - that could be used as tips. I might be wrong but I think in DCL's gifts brochure there is the option of staeroom credit.
