We are visiting on 9/26 & 9/27 (a Monday and Tuesday), and were going to try to take DS(3) to Aladdin on one day and Disney Junior Live on the other. How long before show time do we actually have to line up, and does it depend on which show time (e.g. a morning show vs. an evening show) you go to? I know it's off season, but I've never been to either show so I just don't know how crazy it is with lining up.

I'm also wondering if we should save Aladdin for Tuesday, as Tuesdays tend to be less crowded than Mondays?

Live on Stage is not something you need to line up for in advance, unless for some reason you want to be the first one in the theater and be right up front. There is really not a problem with being able to see no matter where in the theater you are, so unless it's worth it to you to show up 30 minutes early to be front and center, you can usually show up 5-10 minutes early and be just fine.

As far as Aladdin goes . . . if you want to be in the orchestra, you will probably need to be there at least a half hour in advance. We have gone several times 15-20 minutes in advance and been seated in the balcony. Again, there's not really a bad seat in the house - certainly some are preferable to others but you'll be able to see and hear everything no matter where you sit. In fact, some people prefer to sit higher up so they can see the magic carpet scenes better. The downside to the balcony is that you have to go up several flights of stairs, which is not a big deal in itself, but can be if you have little kids who get tired of all that climbing and beg you to carry them. :)

Thanks for the info! I think we will try for Aladdin Monday afternoon and Disney Live on Tuesday after we check out of the GCH. We are not picky about the seats, really...just want to make sure we'd get in.

We saw Aladdin on Saturday and got AWESOME seats exactly in the center of the second row in the mezzanine, which I thought was perfect since the elephant and other actors walk in the path between the mezzanine and orchestra and you'd have to turn around to see them. The flying carpet also was easy to see without craning our necks too much to look up.

It was a 6:20 show and we showed up at 5:45. A lot of people headed straight to the orchestra. In retrospect, I should have gone to DTD and paid $10 for the preferred seating tickets. DH left his ECV outside (it was SO crowded in the line-up area) and I saw preferred ticket holders stroll up only 5 minutes before they let us in to be seated.

what is this?????? I've never heard of purchasing preferred seats. where exactly in DTD do you get them?

thanx

I can't remember where I read it but someone said you can buy a pack of stuff for $10 in DTD that includes the preferred seating for Aladdin and MTMM.

How early would you line up for Aladdin if you were going Dec. 17th or 18th, a Saturday and Sunday, the week before Christmas? lol :santa:

I'm preparing for absolute insanity.

I would imagine that not all schools will be on break that soon, so hopefully the parks won't be quite as crowded as the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Choose the show you want to see, then at least two hours before the show, ask a CM how soon you should line up.

I believe it is at the Walt Disney Travel Co. which is over by Compass Books in DTD.

And you can just buy it? You don't have to have purchased your vacation or tickets through them? That would be awesome!
