Hello everyone,

My dd who will be celebrating her sweet 16 next year wants to go to CA Grill b/c she thinks it will be cool to see wishes from there. We don't really like the food so I called WDW today and asked if it would be alright for us to make ressies and have appetizers, a drink (for mom) and dessert and not have the whole dinner and she said it's fine. So my question is do you think we should stick with that plan or should we venture to Narcoossee's for a dinner and wishes from there? Thanks.

If your daughter wants wishes and it's for her birthday, I'd stick with CG since it's her choice.

IMO...I love Narcossee's the most. The view from CG is fine but the fireworks aren't over the castle. To me CG was much noiser and chaotic than Narcossee's was. I LOVED the food at Narcosees. The food at CG was good...but I just prefered Narcossee's. Your daughter might prefer CG since it is her birthday, but you might point out info on Narcossee's and see if she would like it!

I agree, show her Narcoossee's and see if you can sell her on it:

- Fantastic food and service (Even our 6yo proclaimed his Mickey pasta the best ever!) :thumbsup2
- Lights are dimmed and Wishes music is piped into the restaurant
- View Wishes from the deck (can even arrive via boat from MK)
- Also view the Electric Water Parade on the lagoon before Wishes
- They surprised us by personalizing the menu for my 6yo bday boy nephew, let that be a surprise for her too (we just noted that we were celebrating his bday, we didn't request or expect anything)
- Someone at the table MUST order the YOAMD Almond crusted cheese cake not only is it delicious, the presentation is jaw dropping and your 16yo DD will love it; it really is Disney magic on a plate
- I also LOVED the Mango smoothie as my beverage

Hope you get to go! If not make her eat CS the other nights and you and hubby go on a Narcoossee's date! :rotfl2:

I don't think you can go wrong either way. CaliGrill is a higher, closer view; Narcoossee's is lower, looking up at the castle, but further back with maybe a wider angle. So, I'd say show her the menus and let the birthday girl pick. FWIW.

California Grill for sure! My kids are very picky and didn't like the food when we were there but they want to go back so they can see wishes with the music piped in from there. It was awesome!
Just for the record DH and I enjoyed the food a lot and looking forward to going back.

Narcoossees no questions about it. Absolutely loved their food. The view was excellent :thumbsup2

Yes, but have you tried Narcoossee's? They may like the Wishes experience and the food. Music is also piped in at Narcoossee's. Plus they can also see the Electric Water parade from Narcoossee's; our 6yo was mesmerized by the parade.

Thanks everyone for the great advice and it sounds like there are many who love Narcoossees and many who love CG so I will let the birthday girl decide if I can catch her attention for a minute that is :rolleyes1

These are great suggestions/advice. At what time would you suggest to be at either of these restaurants for dinner in order to see Wishes after? TIA :goodvibes

I could never decide!! So, we get the delux dining plan and go to both!! Narcoossee's is my absolute favorite, but the family loves the wishes presentation at CG. Your DD wants CG, so I say take her there.

California Grill is my favorite hands down. But that may be because of the amazing sunset we happened to witness when there for our first dinner. That plus the amazing service will keep us coming back. You can't go wrong with either though! have a great time whatever you decide :thumbsup2

California Grill. However, the later you dine, the more hectic it becomes.

I think we are going to stick with the original plan and just get appys and dessert yum at CG so we can view the wishes. I of course can get a nice drink as well:thumbsup2 Narcoossees is somewhere we may have to go as well but I currently have Yachtsman Steakhouse on the agenda so it's one or the other and I'm leaning towards YS b/c my dd loves a good filet. Thanks again everyone I love hearing peoples opinions and suggestions!!

Cali grill.

My last two meals at Narcoossees have been a big disappointment. We've eaten at the Cali grill at least half a dozen times in the past few years and never had a bad plate of food. CG is incredible, and it'll be awhile before I go back to Narcoossees! They really need to step it up, they're losing ground, bigtime IMO.

I agree go to the CG!

Last time we went to Narcoosees, we got what could be best described as step child service. We had the closest table to the kitchen and got a differnt waiter for every course. They would stop by every blue moon to see if we needed anything 20 mins ago.

Food was GREAT, but i have had better service at Dennys after midnight.

We loved Narcoossee's when we were there a few weeks ago for DH's 40th birthday. I can't wait to get back there - it won't happen fast enough.

Their Romaine salad is fabulous and DH loved the Tuna.
