AHA! Got some of you wondering what BYOS was didn't I? :wave2:

I need to know quickly, as we come in less than a month....do you bring your own strollers or rent one? My toddler is 33 lbs...so she needs one, but do you find it easier to rent one at the parks ( so you don't have to lug one on the buses?) or is it easier to carry a 'nicer' umbrella stroller (for when you return to the hotel and the toddler is 'out' and you don't want to carry her!) I could really use some advice on this one, as I'm gonna have to buy one here or rent one there.

Which do you prefer? Either way, it's gonna cost me and I don't mind that, but is it more of a hassle with the stroller or is it better with your own, so they can recline, sleep, and use it at the hotels if their asleep?

Thanks for all your help...this part is driving me

We always brought our own. Make sure it is lightweight. You need a stroller in other places than just the parks like downtown disney or walking to your car or the bus, walking in the airport, just about anywhere outside the parks...

I'm going through the same dilemma. I definitely won't bring my own full size stroller because I wouldn't want to try and haul it on and off the buses. I'm leaning towards bringing umbrella stroller so we don't have to carry a sleeping 30 lb toddler (did that at Disneyland, not fun!) and in case it's a long walk to the buses from our hotel room--I want to save their energy for the parks. The rental strollers at Disney are ok but they are hard plastic so they aren't too comfortable for naps if your toddler still naps.

Last trip we had a 3.5 yr old and 17 month old. We rented double strollers at MK, AK and Epcot. At MGM my 3.5 yr old walked and 17 month old used the cheapy umbrella stroller we brought from home. We also had him in the umbrella when we visited other resorts and also at Downtown Disney. Soooooo, it sounds like you just have the one toddler, so I would tell you to just take your own. OH but we drove everywhere in our van-did not use the buses. I don't know how difficult it is to have a stroller on the buses.... Have a great time!

If you have the money - get a good umbrella stroller - especially if you are planning on having more kids. A Peg Pliko P3 is my favorite. I've also been happy with Maclaren. Ingelsina Zippy has a great one hand fold. Some of these strollers even have a near full recline if you want your child to nap. You can get canopies that go all the way to the napper bar to protect from the Orlando sun. It was not problem to fold the Pliko for transportation. It even stands on it's own which was a plus.

I think we should set up a stroller swap. ::yes:: You arrange to meet someone leaving your hotel when you are coming in and trade off the stroller. That way no one has to lug it onto an airplane, etc... ;)

Anyone leaving POR on 6/28 at around noon and want to sell me your umbrella stroller?:teeth:
