What food & drink items do /don't they let you bring in to the parks? Can you bring plastic soda bottles in? Thanks!

We've always gotten away with snack stuff and water bottles. I've never been stopped, but then I've never packed a whole meal kwim? ;)

The main thing they checked on us was what our bottles were made of. No glass containers. We took in a full soft sided large lunch cooler with 5+ bottles of water & gatorade and had no issues. Also, we brought in sandwiches and snacks with no problems. Just don't have any glass.

We have always brought in water bottles, snacks, etc and never had anyone say anything.

Really, they aren't checking to see what kind of food you are bringing in...they are looking for dangerous things...ie...guns, knives, etc...that's a no no!

The last time we went (June 09) we went with another family who was on a strict budget and we brought our lunches and snacks every day. We brought in soda in plastic bottles and capri suns along with soft sided lunch kits with sandwiches, veggies, chips, cheese and desserts and misc snack items like pretzels, crackers and nut mix. They checked each day at the gate but never said anything about our items.

At worst you could store your food in the lockers at the picnic area between the M&F tram and the main entrance.

Indeed - especially with all the allergies I think they are unlikely to stop you bringing in food unless it is an incredibly large quantity.
We have always had a couple small soft eskys with water bottle, soda cans, sandwiches etc.

You can take some foods in but not all. Plastic soda/water bottles are fine, no glass, I think they allow cans but we always take bottles because you can close them. You can take ready made sandwiches but not sandwich fixings, you can take soft sided coolers but anything bigger will have to be locked in the lockers outside the parks. Snacks are fine, we take our own snacks and drinks all the time.

I have taken bottled water, capri suns, and powerades into the park. Never had an issue.

Have also taken snacks of all sorts - oreos, goldfish, etc. Again, never had an issue.

One time I was on such a budget that I packed a lunch at home - a small tupperware of rice with lemon/garlic chicken - and brought it in! :rotfl:! Still, didn't have an issue.

As stated before, it's mostly the glass issue and the weapons/dangerous things issue.

Yep, no glass and no alcoholic beverages. We always pack a backpack filled with soda cans, Gatorade, snacks, jerky, fast food hamburgers, and have never had a problem.

P.S. though, Universal Studios Hollywood is more strict when it comes to bringing in food so be careful there if you are planning on going, get feedback first.
