Are we allowed to bring things like baby floats, noodles, kickboards, etc? We will have a 6 month old and a learning-to-swim 4 yr old with us. Thanks!

Noodles and water wings are OK, everything else may not work. We were there last month and I never saw any other items at SAB. However, you may be able to use a float at the DVC quiet pool. They do have life jackets that you can use for your little one. Our 4 yo GD used water wings and is comfortable with those. Our 2 yo GD used one of the resort vest and that worked well for her.

We had purchased a few things at the store near the pool including floats, noodles etc. We also borrow (they just take down your info from your key card) a life jacket for our daughter there. We used to be able to keep it for the whole vacation, but on our last vacation, we had to bring it back every night....however, it may be because it was summer at that time and busier at the pool. :confused3

You can also rent/borrow (not sure if there is a fee), I believe, a tube. We haven't done it, but I see quite a few people with them, mostly at the lazy river part.

By the way, I think you may also like the pool near the entrance of the large slide. There is a small slide there, perfect for little ones.

You need to be very careful at SAB with your children. There are very deep areas (8 feet deep) with a very swift current in some areas.

Yes, in this contained area, your little ones should have lots of fun! That's a cute little slide.

When we went three years ago you had to rent the tubes... I honostly thought that was crazy but it is probably still the case!!!

When we were there in September, you could rent the clear floats/tubes and purchase the noodles. (Not sure about life jackets since we don't have little ones.) The tubes would have been especially nice in the lazy river part, which is quite deep in spots, but we thought that they were too expensive. I can't remember how much for sure, but $9 seems to be stuck in my mind. :confused3 I think that the noodles were less expensive. Someone else will probably be able to clarify.

I'll second this piece of advice. There are some currents that will sweep an adult away in a couple of areas. I would keep both of your children not just in view -- but within reach.

I'll triple the advice.

I swam competitively and life-guarded for multiple years. I was floating with my one year old around the lazy river when the combination of the pool depth and current strength made it very difficult for me to keep solid control over her position in the water (she was wearing a float vest).

I bought sevylor clear tubes to use.
It was a couple of years ago and they are
totally clear, not the light see through colors.
They are just like the sab ones.
If I can find a link I will post it.

They won't allow you to bring your own tubes any more. If you want to use a tube, you have to rent one.

When we were at VB last month, we were told by the lifeguard that we couldn't use one of our own floats because it cast a shadow. I think that must be something that causes difficulties for the lifeguards looking for people in trouble. That must be why the SAB tubes are clear. I have no idea about whether or not they let you bring your own things if they satisfy their criteria at SAB, but they seem to be more lenient about that stuff at VB -- when they do have stuff to borrow, it's mostly free, so they're not losing money.

DD10 and I just returned from BCV on Thursday a.m.

The tubes were $3/hour or $10/day (I think this was for single) to rent.

The noodles were $4/each to purchase.
