We are planning our first trip to Disney and I was thinking of taking advantage of the excellant exchange rates to buy both a compact and a quality digital camera.
Has anyone any advice or experience of the pros & cons of doing this (such as guarantees battery charging etc.).
Any advice will be much appreciated.

We are planning to do the same thing on the digital camera front and as far as I can tell there shouldn't be a problem - we are going for one that takes AA batteries so that we don't have to get an ac adaptor and if you go to somewhere like Wal-mart, Comp-usa, Radio Shak etc., you shoid get a really good deal on both of them. You can check out these shops on line before you go.

While you are there you can use ordinary AA batteries which are really cheap and use re-chargeable ones when you get back.

Hope this helps

If you buy the cameras from wal-mart , then if anything goes wrong with them over here, you can take them to your local asda! remember to take your receipt.

Most (All?) modern digital cameras with rechargeable batteries are supplied with 110-240v charger you can use most anywhere. My Canon has a tiny charger about the size of a cigarrette packet that is easy to pack.
