Really, really loosely.
Really, really loosely.
That would be.........

Sort of like today's Tomorrowland (the theme park area) is really, really loosely related to a land of tomorrow?![]()
Shawn Slater from the Disney Parks Blog already said that EO is coming back after the previewsI surprised myself by having mixed feelings about this. OTWH I'm doing the happy dance that they're retiring this attraction. OTOH I'm not very happy at the thought that Disney has decided to use this spot in Epcot just as another place for relentless self promotion. Isn't that what the spot in DHS is now dedicated to? If this is just a temporary placeholder for a new and engaging attraction, I'm OK with it. But the pessimistic voice in my ear is whispering that Disney is probably cheaping out again.
Nope.By the way...anyone else think is was a stupid idea for Disney to use the iconic term "Tomorrowland" for a movie that has absolutely nothing to do with anything at its Theme Parks?

I hope they put something new after the preview.
Really, really loosely.
They don't show just the trailer. They generally show about 10 minutes of the actual movie.
For Cinderella they showed about 15 min of the movie. For Maleficent they showed about 10 min of the movie and had behind the scenes from Angelina jolie talking.
But herein lies the problem. Tomorrowland isn't a "concept". It is a tangible thing that exists in several Theme Parks. This movie is not about those Theme Park Lands. I think the original title would have made more sense. The movie looks to be in the spirit of the land, which is a concept, not a story
Nope.
The movie looks to be in the spirit of the land, which is a concept, not a story, and parts of it were filmed within the Carousel of Progress. I wish The Haunted Mansion had been treated half as well.
They definitely shot some of the film around the Carousel of Progress at WDW ... that was confirmed by a Marceline to MK tour guide last year.
I don't want to spoil the plot (so don't read any further if concerned),
We'll have to agree to disagree. As for the rest of your post, I guess we'll find out in May, but I suspect there is a larger Disney park influence than you think. But herein lies the problem. Del Toro has a long history of projects he is attached to being stalled or shelved indefinitely. I wouldn't hold my breath that his Haunted Mansion movie will ever be anything more than a pipe dream.I wish they'd actually move forward with the plans for the new HM film. They unveiled a VERY short teaser with nothing but the logo, then apparently did nothing since. Guillermo del Toro said they were looking for a new scriptwriter, but that was over a year ago.
Off topic, but the new board software allows spoiler tags:
See?
