My DH and I stayed at the BWV's with a BW view from 11/12-11/20.

It was a special trip for several reasons but my one reservation (in planning the trip) was would I like the BWV's as much as the BCV's? (We have stayed at every DVC resort except OKW and VB).

Well, I am surprised to say, I think the BW wins out, particularly if you're staying in a DVC room. My BWV view room was the same amount of points as a preferred view room. Its a separate and guaranteed room category. The view was one word - fantastic.

We were on the 4th floor (next to a grand villa) over the Big River Brewing Co. High enough to enjoy the ambiance of the BW without feeling adversely impacted by any noise, etc.

The views alone made it so special. Add in the boats, the entertainment, the food... It's our new favorite resort.

I booked my daughter and a friend into the BCV's during the same time period and was sure I'd be jealous. But we truly loved the BW and the view. To us, it trumped the (minimal) slightly longer walk to Epcot.

So glad you enjoyed BWV. We did too! And, we might have been your neighbors!
We were there 11/13-11/18 on the fourth floor above Big River Grill. We were in a studio directly above the canopy for the restaurant.
If you remember some disney-geek lady stepping out on her balcony and saying, kind of loudly, to her husband in the room, "ahhh, the music is playing!". That was me when we first got to our room!:rolleyes1 I did that, not realizing or expecting someone to be on the balcony next door. Sorry if it was you!
I just love the music they play on the Boardwalk and in the resort. It really sets the tone for the place.
Crowd levels were wonderful that week weren't they?

Glad you had a good trip. Your experience is a great reminder: Don't be afraid to try another resort and keep an open mind. You might be surprised!

room 4031? ;)
we love BW view:cloud9: after years of trying everywhere else (which we're glad we did) the view and resort really make our every vaca special - that view is what i dream about every night we are away from it..

Staying for the first time in January at the BWV. Can't wait. BCV has always been my favorite but maybe this will be my new favorite too.

Yes, it was #4031! We felt like we hit the jackpot when we saw that view.

Good to hear! We have our first BW view stay in 99 days and are really looking forward to it :cool1: We can't wait to be able to walk to HS and Epcot.:thumbsup2

I'm going to have to give a BW view a second try. We did it once and since then have always opted for standard view. We just didn't "see" what the fuss was about. We were near the Big River Grill outside sitting, maybe the 3rd floor.

pretty good guess, right? ;)
we stay in a BW view studio at least 2x a year, and we always get x029 or
x031 (x being floor, of course:)). it's fun (for me at least) guessing at check-in our room number - and even more fun when i get it right (which is very often:confused3). the look on the CM's face is priceless.
the 4th and 5th x031 have the best views, imho. we have gotten 2031 twice this year, and found ourselves disappointed at first (illuminations view is so-so), but were eventually thrilled. 2031 has a huuuuuuuuge balcony, amazing view of the BW itself, and just a short walk up/down the nearby stairwell  while i wouldn't recommend 2nd floor for the first few BW view stays, after many years of, and thousands of photos from, the upper floors (and asthma producing walks up the multiple flights of stairs), we have a newfound love of the 2nd floor :lovestruc
bobbi, the 3rd floor is, imho, the best of upper and lower (easy access), but also the worst (view is so-so, regular size balcony). i would ask for upper floor if you try it again (tho we know how requests are, it is worth a shot).
glad you had a great time!

I have stayed in # 5001 and it was a great view.I t was a one bedroom with double balcony.Im ready to book my 13th annual 4th of july trip and would like to stay in a 1 bedroom closer to your room number #4031.Do you have a room map that would show any 1 bedrooms around #4031?
Most of my rooms I get have a lousy view that overlook the maint.area

We also adore BWV and the BW view. We've never had too much noise and the views are so amazing!

A word of caution, though, if you travel in January (which we always do), it is entirely possible that the Boardwalk will be very quiet, especially during the week. I don't mind the quiet, relaxed nature, but the kids were a bit bummed the games weren't open.

I'm not a fan of asking for a particular room number and feel your better bet is to ask for a preferred floor and/or area.

Glad you enjoyed BWv! I will be there in February and I am hoping it is as good as I remember! I stayed once, in 2009, and absolutely fell in love :lovestruc. I am so excited to go back!

I will add that 2049 is a HA room.

So glad you enjoyed BWV and your view! We just stayed there for the 1st time in Oct and are now looking at adding on there :cool1: YUP - we've been bitten by the BWV bug!

So, to request a studio with the "perfect" view, I should ask for 3rd or 4th floor above BR Grill? Is Thimble & Threads a similar view if by chance that becomes a second option? I am not familiar with the resort at all!
