BWVs over New Year's

Hi Everyone,
I have a DIS friend who is potentially going to be renting some points from me for a NYE's stay 2012-2013. I own at BCV, VWL (just closed on these two) and SSR (in Florida) and I planned on making a studio reservation at BCV at 11 months out for them. Then I was going to try and switch it over at the 7 month mark.

Do think there is any chance of availability?

They want to stay at the BWV because the ESPN Zone is in that resort and her DH loves football. It's been a couple years since I've stayed at the Epcot resorts and I can't remember distances, but considering the location of the Villas and the ESPN zone, even if they did get into the BWV wouldn't the BCV be almost as close to ESPN?

I'm not sure of availability over New Years but, we were just at BWV last month and walked to BCV several times and I don't think it took more than ten minutes any time we walked it. I'd think either resort would be good.

That's what I was thinking (which is why I asked), but they want to be at the same resort even though it might be the same distance from one resort to the other restaurant.

You should have a shot at a preferred pool/garden view studio at BWV at 7 months but I would be shocked if either a standard or BW view studio was available. On NYE there is a DJ on the Village Green (the grassy area in front of the boat dock) and that is fun. We actually prefer that to the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds at Epcot. You can see a lot of the fireworks from the BW.

The walk isn't far at all....however, during popular sporting events ESPN does reach capacity and it can be difficult to even get in - lines out the door sort of thing.

Chances of getting anything for night of Dec 31 at BWV are very slim at 7 months -- it is virtually impossible to get even at 9 months out for owners of BWV. Chances of getting something starting night of Jan 1 are better. Room to ESPN distance is shorter at BWV but walk from BCV is easy.

We have stayed at BWV for New Years many times. There is not usually any availability at the 7 month window for studios, you can sometimes get a 1 bedroom for preffered view. But I think you will be just fine in BCV, and it some cases with the lon hal ways at BWV you might be much closer to ESPN. Either way you will be in the best location for New Years Eve.

I'll vouch for that, we've been down the last 4 MLK weekends(heart of NFL playoffs) and the line is huge to get into ESPN. I'm sure college bowl season is just as busy.

Was over at BLT this year and TOWL would be a good place to watch. We were in there when one of the games was on and only 2 couples watching!
