In two weeks it will be my first trip as a dvc owner staying at the BWV. I never stayed there and don't know much about it. Just wondering if it is a nice resort. :confused3 I am getting a little nervous when I read the threads about the rooms not being up to par. ::surfweb: What floor should I ask for my res is for a pool/garden view 1 br. :)

Any feedback would be great :goodvibes Thanks

It is the best resort that I have ever stayed at. I love the resort in every way.

Best choice for room. They are all great. I would suggest to be nearer to the lobby (the halls are long).

We stayed at BWV for the first time in February, and we loved it. The location is great - it is wonderful to be able to walk to both Epcot and the Studios. You have access to great restaurants, both on the Boardwalk and at the nearby hotels - not to mention the World Showcase restaurants. I know that some have posted about problems at this resort, but in our experience the villa was in excellent condition and the housekeeping was excellent. Have a wonderful trip and welcome home!

We stayed in a one bedroom preferred view in August and really enjoyed our stay. We had a great view of the Swan/Dolphin and it was really pretty at night. Given a choice, we would have liked a standard view to save points but I understand those go pretty fast and BWV is not our home resort so we are booking at 7 months. The hallways are long but we really didn't have a problem with that. And I think we were the last room at the end of the hallway! Can't beat the location, we enjoyed having the restaurant choices and really liked being able to walk to Epcot/MGM. We still enjoy our home resort of SSR but would stay at BWV again if the opportunity came up. We found the room in very good condition and really like the sofa beds. That was one thing we thought was much better than SSR - the new sofa bed! DD is the expert on this as she is the one who sleeps there and she raved about it.

We just stayed at BWV for the first time last week. We purchased there last December, but this was our first trip home. It was everything we hoped it would be! As others have said, the location is wonderful. We were in the Crest of the Wave section and were able to use the door at the end of the hall as well as one that was a short cut to the Boardwalk, so I wouldn't worry about "long" halls. We were on the second floor, so stairs weren't really a problem.

Our boys, 11 and 15 yrs, loved the activity of the resort. We utilized the Community Hall for movies, games and renting bikes. My only regret is that we didn't just stay at the resort more often. My husband and I both have said we could stay there with no park tickets and be completely happy!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

BWV is my FAVORITE resort and LOCATION! Sounds like we'll be there at about the same time (we're going 12/9-12/14--2br standard view).

The rooms we've stayed in have been a bit worn (it is a timeshare), but nice none-the-less. As far as view, this will be our first time to stay there and NOT have a boardwalk view. If you don't mind the clown pool view, you can request that. There is also the quiet pool view and/or canal view (faces towards Swan/Dolphin).

Besides all of the nice shops and restaurants along the Boardwalk, be sure to spend some time with your little ones at Community Hall (next to the quiet pool). They have video games, fooze ball, ping pong, coloring, dvd rentals, oversized Jenga game, bike rentals and more. Our girls (3 and 4) like to spend some down time in there playing for awhile. They also enjoy the arcade and playground area.

I'm so excited! We leave in 16 days! Hope to see you there!

Thanks for all the replies.

I feel better now about my upcoming vacation. :goodvibes Can't wait to see the views. :woohoo:

You have nothing to worry about! This resort is awesome.

BWV's are definately not "nice".
nice would be just about anywhere other than the BW (& SSR) ;)
BW on the other hand, is absolutely AMAZING!!!
stunning lobby, incredible views, walk or ferry to EPCOT/MGM, great night life, delicious baked goods/paninis at the bakery (ohhh, & the smell wafting from it :cloud9: ), quiet strolls around the resort, surry bikes........
we've really haven't had probs with worn/dirty rooms (some minor stuff, but nothing that couldn't be/wasn't fixed quickly).

btw, before buying DVC, we would walk along the BW, looking at the balconies, slightly envious of the ppl lucky enough to be staying there, awakening to the most incredible views in WDW (this even tho we stayed at most of the deluxes, concierge, as well as mods).
even after years of living my "BWV dream", i still get that shortness of breath & awe as we pull up, & that constant feeling of amazement just staying there.

yeah, i think you'll love it!! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see BWV, they way it is described sounds lovely. I'll post how my trip went. :santa:

check out the pics on the member website (& make sure your speakers are on ~ that's the BW music :cloud9: ).......
the only recommendation i would have for location is not ground flooor ~ but that is personal preference (i hate ppl looking in my windows :scared1: lol). you can request floor level, near elevators, quiet pool/scary clown pool, etc....all a matter of preference, & of course, none guaranteed :confused3 .

we try to stick with one request (not ground level), as it is more likely to be granted that way. we kind of like being surprised by the exact location tho.

have fun!

My husband and i agree with you, we could make a vacation out of the resort alone! We were there last week, our rooms were great. We were right on the Boardwalk, studio 5031, mother in law and brother in law were in 4031, 1 daughter & son in law was in 5053 and 2 daughters & niece were in 4015, all views were great, i couldn't have asked for better. All of the rooms we have seen were in great condition. we were a little to the left of the Brew Pub, room 4015 was directly over it....we had a great time, parks were a little too crowded though, but we had a great time.

We just returned from our trip on Saturday. We stayed SSR studio for one night then moved to BWV 1 bedroom 11/11-11/15. This was our first trip as DVC members and we were really worried it wasn't going to be worth the expense.

Boy were we wrong! SSR did nothing for us, we didn't like the layout, the room was nice but nothing special. We were happy we stayed there but we don't feel we need to stay there again. BWV on the other hand was just great. We had room 5094 which was all the way at the end of the long hall (My DD loved to run down the hallway everyone morning and night so I didn't mind it keeping her occupied.)overlooking the clown pool. I actually stayed in the room to take picutres of DD on the slide and got some great shots. If I leaned over the balcony I had a clear view of Disney Studios. We could also see the tops of fireworks at Epcot and MK (At least we think that's what they were because it was the right time). Mousekeeping was terrific and very pleasant. The couch bed was very comfortable and I loved how it folded. We didn't use the kitchen but it was spotless and the bathrooms were huge! I have no complaints about the resort at all. We loved how the boardwalk came to life at night with the peddlers and stuff, the magician was great too. We rented a surrey bike and did the loop around the lake twice and our legs killed us the next day from the hills but it was still fun.
Hope you have a good time. We can't wait to go back.

We actually love the ground floor - especially when pushing a stroller. From the standard view side, we were right out the door across to the bus stop and the parking lot and right out the door on the other side to the pool. We would cut through the pool area from the boardwalk area to our room. Never went through the lobby or the elevator that trip. It was great. :thumbsup2

That being said, haven't been back to the ground floor since that trip and that's o'kay. Takes a day or two and we figure out the "short-cuts" although, sometimes trying to find them makes for a longer walk! Lol. And it is nice going through the lobby and elevators to see the decor and to say hello to other guests. :goodvibes

It's sooo good. Esp the BW View. :thumbsup2
