My in-laws have invited my DH, DD & self to join them in a 2BR at BW. Because we can get down there a couple days earlier than they can, we rented points and will begin our stay in a preferred studio there. I've heard all the 2BR of BW are lock-outs. Does this mean we can possibly request that the two reservations be linked so that we don't have to move? If my in-laws could move into a 1BR adjoining our studio - that would be great! Is this worth pursuing or should we not bother? Thanks for any insight/experience.

You can request it, but there is no guarantee the the resort will be able to honor the request.

Reservations for different size units cannot be linked.

The person you rented from will need to make the request to MS - you will have to give him the confirmation number for the 2 bedroom reservation.

Your parents should make the same request with the confirmation number of your rented studio.

For this to work, both reservations must be for the same booking category (view). BWV has three of those: Standard view, Preferred view - Boardwalk and Preferred View -Pool/Garden.

Good luck!

While all of the 2 bedrooms are lockoffs, there are many dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms. So your reservation could be for a dedicated studio, which cannot be combined with a 1 bedroom.

Both reservations would also have to be the same booking type, in this case preferred view. You should let MS know what's going on and that you don't want to move. You should repeat your request at checking. You'll still have to check back in again on the changeover day and you want to repeat your request again early, about 6 am or so in person.
