BWV waitlist

Okay, I know people ask time and time again what their chances are of getting their waitlist filled and no one really knows, but now I am going to do it! Due to an add-on I was able to extend our January trip but I had to do some waitlisting. I am just wondering what my chances are for this time of year. This is what I have so far...

December 31: Waitlisted for 1 bedroom BWV any view
January1-5 : 1 Br. BWV standard view
January 6: 1 Br. BWV preferred view
January 7: 1 Br. BWV standard view
January 8: 1 Br. BWV preferred view

I am not to worried about the night of the 31st because my sister is a Cast Member and gets 50% off rooms so she booked us at the Polynesian for that night. I obviously would like to get to use points and not have to switch resorts, but getting the night of the 31st isn't vital. I am really just wanting the nights of the 6th and 8th in a standard view! I am a little worried because these are the dates of the marathon, not sure if that affects booking but it seems like it would.

Do they ever let you stay in a standard view even if you have preferred view booked? It seems like they might since you are basically just asking for a downgrade!

Also, I heard that one bedrooms are the least popular unit size? Anyone know if there's any truth to this?

I had a situation similar to your's a couple of years ago over New Year's at the BWV. We had standard view for the whole trip (9 nights) except New Year's Eve. They let us stay in our room that night even though we had a preferred view booked.

We had to check out and check back in again on that day and the next day but we didn't have to change rooms. Which means someone else received our preferred view room that night.

If the waitlist doesn't come through, make sure to explain the situation to the CM checking you in and ask if there is anyting that he/she can do to keep you in the same room.

I'm glad to hear you didn't have to move rooms. Since we have one standard view night surrounded by 2 preferred view we could potentially have to move 3 times which would be horrible. Since we will also probably be moving after the night of the 31st at the Poly that would really be a lot of moving especially with all the "stuff" that having a 6 year old and a 1 year old entails!
