BWV Waitlist Nov 17

Online at 8am this morning....site maintainance. On the phone at 9am and dates not all there. So I waitlisted Nov 8-15. Whole trip to be Nov 8-18, but can only waitlist or book 7 nights from the 8th right now. This is my first 11 month reservation. How does this work? If I call tomorrow and add the 15-16 and then each day there after do I go to the bottom of the waitlist each day or is it an edit to my original waitlist? Suggestions? Chances on it coming through? Thanks!!

Book the dates you can get, then keep looking for the opens. Don't WL the whole stay if some of your dates are bookable.

Also, log in every morning. People may be walking their reservations for Thanksgiving already.

OP, are you trying for a standard studio? Those seem to always be in very high demand.

Yes, trying for standard studio. I don't have enough points for the garden view.

The 8th of November is the unavailable night and that's the first trip night so I cannot book any of the days after because it's outside the window until tomorrow now. I did look and see a few days before the 8th come available so maybe tomorrow morning some people will be dropping the 8th?? If so, does the room go back into inventory and get swiped up by my waitlist or will everyone in the am have time to swipe up all of the rooms currently available for the 9th before anyone can drop the 8th? Sorry, I'm just trying to figure out how the system works so I'm better prepared for this next time.

Be online and ready to book at 8:00 am in the morning. Book any days that are available and then put in your waitlist for the days that are missing. You do not want a waitlist for the whole week.

I have had your situation happen a few times since buying bwv points. I will have my first day unavailable, but then been able to book part of the stay the next morning. I just put in the waitlist at the 11 month mark for my missing days.

I have always had my waitlist for standard villas at bwv filled if they were put in at the 11 month mark! Good luck. Those standard view villas can be tough to book during the fall and Christmas season.

You're competing with the "Jersey Week" visitors. Might be a challenge to get standard view. Keep checking, book what you can as soon as you can and then make sure your waitlist(s) are set up. Good luck!

This is what I would do...

Go online tomorrow morning at 7:55am and have everything ready to go. Start your reservation on the 9th, not the 8th. That way, you should be able to lock in the bulk of your trip. You should also try to book JUST the 8th, and if (when) it shows as unavailable, you can waitlist just that one night. If someone is walking it, you should get it in a week or so once it is dropped. In addition, single-night waitlists are much more likely to fill than one for several nights.

Good luck! I just went through a similar situation last month when I was trying to secure 5 nights in October in a value studio at AKV. I had to go online three days in a row before I could secure that first night. Fortunately, I was able to get it...I only had 45 points to use and that is exactly how may I needed.

I got online this morning for VGC for July (7 months), a couple min before 8:00. Down for maintenance. Kept trying for the next hour with no luck. I got on the phone at 9:00, and right as the cm answered, the website finally came up. I went ahead and booked on the phone. Got a 1 bedroom Juky 8 to 13, waitlisted a studio. We are moving on July 13 to PPH for D23 weekend (VGC booked up, don't have enough points anyway).

Op were you lucky enough to get your reservation this morning? I go through this every October myself, so feel your pain! As others have said, it's easier to get day 2 and more and waitlist the first night. It's very unlikely you'll get a weeks waitlist for a standard studio during that popular timeframe.

Do I edit the original reservation to add a day each day? Or do I just make a new reservation for each night as I go? Just book them separately as the become available, then you can have MS merge them together later. And yes, cancel the waitlist and make a new one dropping the 8th. This type of thing, where nights open up as people walk past, is why I say that most reservations do not require walking. So you'll hopefully get what you want but just be waiting an extra day or two.

So I have all my dates except for the night of November 9. Hopefully that will come through soon and then I can merge the 3 separate reservations. Waitlisted it but I'm checking periodically too. The girl on the phone with member services seemed so unsure and made a few mistakes like waitlisting the whole week when I already had all dates booked except for one. She also told me the 9th was available and later figured out that it's not. I just thanked her and went online and deleted the waitlist and added one for just that missing night. Hopefully it will come through soon!
