BWV View question

I know this has been asked before, but haven't had any luck finding a thread with the answer. What is the "standard" view at the BWV? I know what the preferred views are, but have no idea what to expect if we book a standard view. I just don't want to overlook the dumpster ! I guess I want to know what is the worst view?

with the new system when you can request a BW on BWV preferred views - I haven't tried yet.

We stay in standard views as often as possible. IMHO, the views are very nice. While it is true that you can see the entrance driveway and the parking lots, there is a lot of very nice landscaping/flowers/grass between the villas and the black topped areas. They are convenient to the bus stop and the walkway to MGM, and if you check out the stairwells and various first floor exits, you'll find convenient shortcuts to both pools as well.

Since quite a few of the standard view rooms (but not all) have a view of IllumiNation's higher level fireworks from the balcony, I think SV rooms at the BWV are the best bargain on property!

I just reserved on the phone with Member Services Boardwalk View. Do you mean that I could have saved myself some points and reserved preferred view with a Boardwalk view request?

the BW has the nicest views.

before last year you could only reserve preferred or standard - now there are 3 choices - preferred BW view, preferred, standard

If you are going for preferred - I would try for BW preferred.

We have specifically booked a 1 BR STANDARD view for April 2006. For the savings in points, I would rather have this view than over Boardwalk or the Pool.

My studio was just down the hall from there, 3111. Based on my preferred view this year, I'd much rather have the standard view. I don't remember this year's room #, but it was in 4018-4027. But I agree with spiceycat about one thing-the BWV has the nicest views. The Boardwalk views I've gotten have always been great.

Remember that in timeshare VIEW usually means location and not necessarily the actual view from the unit you receive. At BW you can get a "view of the actual BW itself, a "standard view" and all the rest are "preferred view", these are all directly booked categories. The "preferred view" include the pool, plants, etc. A quick history of the BW points reminds us that all rooms were the same points costs initially and some were reduced to become "standard view". Thus those views are deemed worse than the rest, not the other way around. It may be semantics to a degree, but if you pay for preferred view points and get no view, you will then understand, it's not a promise of view from that unit.

The DH and I stayed at BWV last September. We checked early in the moring and asked a CM if it was possible to stay in a room with a view of the water for no increase in points. We got it and had a great view. Check out my pics.

the BWV preferred view of the BW - you are guaranteed the BW view.

the other preferred views are not the BW.

the standard view (my favorite) is the parking lot, main entrance and drive way.

both the standard view and the BWV preferred view of the BW - are both in high demand. they go quickly. So if you haven't all ready got your villa with a BW view - you probably can't.

the preferred views are all the same points no matter which view you get.

the standard views have lower points. when the BWV was new too many members complainted about getting a view of the parking lot. (OKW has no view of the parking lot) - so they came up with standard and preferred views. to stop the complaints.
