We have been DVCers for over 20 years and understand that things happen. Stuff breaks or problems are occasionally overlooked.

We just returned from a 5-night stay and had to call maintenance 3 nights in a row for a leaking toilet that plugged up and overflowed all 3 times. Maintenance came every time but we had to deal with the mess. (No, we didn't put anything in it to plug it up.) I requested new towels and housekeeping to sterilize the floors after the 2nd and 3rd times.

Has anybody else had these issues?

We had 3 refrigerators in 3 days at BWV a few years ago when they changed out the refrigerators in an upgrade for the resort. What did management say about your experience. Have you contacted member satisfaction?

Management said they sent a very nasty note to maintenance to get it fixed after the second time but we were checking out after the last episode and just reported it again. Going to contact member satisfaction today. None of us are sick but with the flu going around, I was nervous with toilet water on the floor for 3 days.

We had a bad toilet at YC in 2008. The first time they came up and fixed it but next morning it was broken again...they moved our room. Better view, too.

I am a BLT now - sometimes with toilets it is the silly person above you that is the problem. (use to live in condo - had that problem - not to mention tub problems all the time because on neighbors). You would be surprised what some people put in the drains.

so what floor were you own?

ist floor, room 1088

yea all the problems come down to the first floor - mostly.

Never buying another condo - and if possible never stay on the first floor.

We had an issue at BCV with our washer leaving rust/brown marks on our clothes. It took most of a day and several different management people to fix the issue (new washer). They were very nice about it and gave us a credit for a meal since we were there in the room all day meeting with the various managers. They wanted to purchase new shirts for my husband (most of the problems were on his clothes) but I just asked for some tide pens to work on them myself.

Apparently during our stay at BLT the water pressure declined while I was out, my sister said no sinks were working, they fixed it promptly, but then an hour later the 3rd toilet started leaking, which was fixed promptly as well. Weird.

I would think after the 3rd call you should have been moved to another room even if on the Inn side. Sorry for the issues during your trip, but your post did make me feel better about requesting a high floor during Food & Wine. :)

We have had some major room issues and once we were sent to the front desk by maintenance to be moved. The CM started the process and then returned from the back room and said that since we were DVC, they wouldn't move us.

Eh - the back office at BC was saying something similar to the front desk when I had room issues and I was staying on cash. They don't seem to discriminate. I was lucky and the front desk person pressed for me to be moved.

I don't really buy that excuse. If the room has had toilet water spread across it is not really habitable especially if it was the third time it happened. It sounds like a letter to DVC member satisfaction is appropriate IMO.

OMG, that's an answer I'd be interested in hearing DVC's response to. If maintenance sends you to be moved, why should you stay? I certainly hope you're planning to contact DVC about that one.

This was a couple of years ago and it added to the evidence and wake up call about DVC and Disney. The resort said that is was a DVC policy and DVC said that it was a resort policy. Welcome Home! :sad2:
