Would you walk from BWV ot MGM for dinner?A few of my teens favorite restaurants are there. How far is the walk? And how far is the walk to Epcot?Any info greatly appreciated.BTW we are all in great shape ,if that matters at all.

I'd probably get the boat from BWV to MGM on the way there and have dinner then help the food go down by walking back. I'd also definately recommend the Brown Derby for dinner with the Fantasmic Dining Package and then be able to get into the reserved area for Fantasmic without having to queue.

If the boat was not at the docks then I would walk to MGM. The walk is only about 10 minutes. The walk to EPCOT ia about 7 minutes. We always walk to EPCOT. Again if the boat is waiting we will take the boat home from EPCOT and MGM.

Actually, depending on where your room is in the BWV; MGM can be very close. When walking head down the hallway that brings you to the quiet pool and head down the stairs. If it is a 5 minute walk from that point I would be surprised.

I found the walk to MGM to be a little harder then walking into Epcot. If that's all you've done all day, no problem, but after doing parks all day, I found it a bit tiring. I like the idea of walking back at the end of the evening.

I'd also walk to Disney-MGM Studios. It'll almost always be shorter than the boat.

It's not only an easy walk, but a beautiful walk. There aren't too many places in Disney where you find yourself alone, but the path to MGM is quiet and travels along the water. Serenity and scenery...you'll feel as if you stumbled upon a secret passageway that not too many people know about. Walking to Epcot is a little busier but has wide paths with beautiful views. Walking to these parks is the best part of staying at Boardwalk & Beach Club. Enjoy!

We seldom take the boat to MGM from the BWV. Since we usually stay in the standard view rooms across from the bus stop or near the tennis courts, it really feels like a shorter walk to MGM than it does to the dock. :teeth:

I totally agree with DanenRox about the walk itself - beautiful, serene and private. Most times we see only the boats, a few ducks and an occasional jogger.

Truth be told, I prefer walking (rather than waiting for the boat) even after a long day of walking in the parks. To me, it seems easier to keep moving than to stand and wait for the boat - especailly after Fantasmic when you may have to wait for 2 or 3 boats before you get on one.

Best wishes -

The walk to MGM can be divided into approximate thirds. The first third is around BW itself....if you are WAY AT THE END OF THE HALL, you are a third of the way to the MGM Gate. The second third is a path that runs along the canal. Its a pleasant walk about as far as the walk to Epcot. The third part of the walk, and the part that gets me, is the walk around the MGM parking lot to the gates. All that hot asphalt reflecting heat can make this not pleasant. I'd say its a 12 minute walk - alone I can still beat the boat, but if I'm with kids or anyone with trouble walking, I can't.

eeyoresmom - you can definitely do this. It's one of the joys of staying at BWV! You don't HAVE to take any form of transportation to MGM. (But you can take the boat if you want to.) MGM is right there close by, and it's a lovely walk.

On our last trip, we took the boat over just to ride TOT and grab a snack. We caught the boat because it was sitting at the dock, ready to go. Same thing coming back. We were going to walk, but the boat was loading up. We had a quick rest and clean up in our room, then we walked to Epcot for dinner. We LOVE being able to do this from either BWV or BCV.

We usually end up in a room at the far end of the hallway (near the parking lots). From there, to walk back to the boat dock would be a huge waste of time and energy as others have said. Walking to Epcot is a bit more of a walk, but even so, we walk at least 90% of the time both parks.
