BWV. Tell me the good and bad

I'm another vote for BWV being my least favorite as far as the rooms go at WDW. But it is my most favorite for location. I just stayed there last week in a BW view studio, and was quite unimpressed with the room itself.

To be fair, my opinion is likely skewed by the fact that I attended a conference and stayed in a BW Inn cash room last year- and found it to be far superior to the DVC room in terms of fit and finish.

I will certainly stay at BWV again for the location, but would likely do it as a split stay, just for the days we were planning to visit EP or HS.

I will agree that last time I too thought that the rooms needed updating, but its all about location....can't beat walking to HS and Epcot...and the Boardwalk Bakery has the best breakfast...

How difficult is it to get during that time period exactly at 7 mos out studio BWV? "Thinking" of a 4 night trip next year '15.

SORRY, CORRECTION: Meant to type studio sat BWV mid October, say 15th-19th?

Thanks!:)

Holiday Decorations will be up by then, correct?

Thanks!:)

Of the end of the year, that week is a good week to try for. The week before is still F&W and then Thanksgiving and Xmas are busy too. They will just be putting up the holiday decorations, I think. You also may only be able to get garden/pool view. Good luck!

It depends on how many nights you need. A one bedroom pool/garden would be easier. But if you only need a night or two you might get a pool/garden studio. You are smack dab in the middle of F&W which is extremely popular with owners there.

Book your home resort as a back up and see if you can switch.

For the people with view questions....we had a studio BW view and all I requested was a higher floor. We had 4th floor almost at the end of the hall (under the "crest o' the wave") but it was a fantastic view of everything from the Swan/Dolphin over to Epcot.
I got our pool/garden view for our trip, and I requested village green first and luna park second--again, higher floor.

This is unrelated, but did garden grocer deliver the food to your room or did you have to pick it up?

If I recall correctly, either they delivered it to the room or bell services did. Either way, it was supposed to be delivered in the afternoon, but for some reason they came at about 9:00am with it! Luckily, our room was actually ready super early and we were unpacking a couple of things. Got all the cold stuff put away and went off to the parks for the day! What a time saver it was to use them - we definitely will order from them next trip again!

I cant say Im a BWV vet, having only stayed there once, but love it all the same. So I would say I am partial. Here is the love side...proximity to 2 parks, walk or boat to either, availability of restaurants, close to other resorts and their amenities, different levels of stay(meaning standard or BW views, this gives you a choice of how many pts to use)
Downside...trying to get those alusive stays during F&W Fest if not an owner(thats why we bought pts here:goodvibes)

Pros: location! So many eateries between BW , Beach/yacht and Swan/Dolphin. EPCOT in walking distance- enough said:rotfl2:Oh HS too.

Con- DVC rooms are in need of a reno. After staying at AKV, GFV or BLT it is hard to stay in these rooms. Especially if you have LO's and spend time in your room! Bus service is better then it used to be but just so-so.
