BWV Studios...sleeping 5 adults

5 adults seems tight to me. We stayed in a refurb room in May with two adults and two children ages 10 & 13. DD13 slept on the murphy bed but she's petite 5'0 and 97 lbs. I don't know if an adult would be comfortable there. DS10 slept alone on the full pull out sofa bed and was comfortable, but the full size may not be adequate size for two adults.

OP not only would it be a tight fit, but a bit crazy in the morning with 5 adults and 1 bathroom in a studio! If you are intent on a studio I would try for VGF or the Poly where you at least have the two bath rooms and a bit larger room size.

actually i wasn't the one that wanted to sleep 5 adults. I just wanted to know if BWV could sleep five. I have two adults and 3 children. The agency i am renting points through had the member call and they were told BWV is not taking reservations for 5.

What type of room? That doesn't make sense. The renovations will be done this fall (last I heard) and all studios will sleep 5 people at that point.

Unfortunately, that is one of the problems with renting, is that you don't have full control and are in some ways at the mercy of the member.

Maybe or maybe not. As I mentioned before the pool/garden view has allowed 5 for awhile - long before the refurb - which is why you could do it for that category. But standard and boardwalk view do not. If it follows VWL they won't open it to 5 until the refurb is completed.

That's odd. I don't know of a studio other than VWL that actually allowed five of any age. Other studios would allow four plus one under the age of three. All the one bedrooms allowed five with only four sleeping spaces, but the guest had to provide their own bedding/bed/linens.

I know, it was an oddity. I think I first learned of it over a year ago and have no idea how long it had allowed it before that. But I checked it once or twice in the following months, before the rehab started, and it still allowed 5 to be booked.

it's a Garden/Pool View Deluxe Studio Villa (taken straight off my reservation)
Yeah, the agency told me that my information was wrong so i pushed and asked if she could just please check on it...then a day later she said the member called and it was a no go. I'm hoping once the refurb is completed this fall i will have a better chance, but then the chance of getting him on the same plane as us will be slim to none

I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you. I have a reservation for December 30th with 6 people (1 being an infant) in a Garden/Pool View Deluxe Studio. I originally only had 4 on my reservation and when I asked member services to add the two additional people (did this a couple weeks ago), they did it without any issues and said no problem. Regardless of whether you can get this person on your reservation, they could still stay with you, so I'd probably book the flight if you are sure they are coming, but you I don't think you'll be able to get them on DME.

I also don't know what to say but it seems like someone - either the agency, the point owner or the CM is not checking. As this is something I've looked into before I just checked again and the pool/garden view is the one studio category at BWV that still allows 5 adults to be booked into it - in January. Since it's not possible anymore to add people at check in I guess you'll just have to wait until the refurb is done and make the request again to the agency.

Thanks for the info...I will wait until the refurb is done and Disney officially puts the info out there and try again with the rental agency. So, since i can't get him added to the room on Disney's records right now, i might go ahead and just book him a plane ticket and keep my fingers crossed that he can be added. However, if i do this, how do i make his FP's with ours? Do i just add him to my family and friends list and i can make all of our FP's together? Will his magic band be sent with ours? Yikes! I just asked a lot of questions... Thanks so much, for all of your information!

We have had 5 in a Boardwalk Studio starting when we bought DVC there in 2008. None were under 3. Before online booking I made phone reservations for the 5 of us. The rule was you had to provide bedding and towels for the 5th person. Back then they put in a request for what they called deluxe studio which had the daybed/bench. We never used it but brought twin airbed and used in entryway and stacked against wall in the day. This was before all studios were called deluxe as now. Once online booking started, you have to call or email to add the 5th person.
It can be done.
If you have confirmation number, try calling yourself. He needs to be on reservation to get magic band and Magical Express.

If your nephew is not on a reservation, he won't receive a magic band. This, honestly, is no big deal as they are not necessary and you could always buy him one. The main issues you will run into are that you won't be able to get FPs for him until 30 days out, whereas those on the reservation can do so at 60 days out (though, I suppose, there are sneaky ways around this - e.g., a dummy booking). At 30 days, you can try to copy your FPs to him, but that might not work if the FPs are not available. Also, he will not have EMH or DME.

you were right, either the agency or the point owner is not checking. I just called member services and just asked if adding someone to my reservation would be possible and he said yes but the member had to do it. (which i knew) so, guess i'm not feeling the magic with my rental agency at this point:crazy2:
