BWV studio vs OKW studio

Better watch it, doing this to save points for more trips could be viewed the same as those who avoid weekend nights to save pts and get more trips; and that could be considered doing an injustice to all DVC members!!! LOL!!!!
I also like the larger bathrooms better and prefer having all the bathroom necessities in one room! But I must admit when traveling with kids and guests the split bath does help speed up the process of everyone getting ready at the same time.

Just curious but where did you put a queen size air mattress in a studio at OKW?
Well, my bad.......what I thought was a queen is actually a double. So we fit a double size air mattress comfortably in OKW---I know this wouldn't have been possible at BWV either. We moved the table and chairs a little. There was still plenty of walk space to get to the bathroom.

Actually BCW, etc studios have 2 fairly large open spaces in the sink/closet area and in the entryway that the OKW studio does not have, if someone would be so inclined to put an air mattress in these spaces.
We didn't want to put the air matress in front of the sink at BWV in case someone needed to wash their hands or something in the middle of the night, so we had the twin size mattress over in the entry area. The twin fit perfectly there with just barely enough space to walk by. And actually, there would be space as you first walk through the OKW studio to fit a twin mattress. We just chose to put it over by the table area.

Personally, if I needed an air mattress I would not be staying in a studio at any DVC resort. That would be way too up close and personal for me! LOL
LOL....well, that's the type of family we are Deep ! Truthfully, we were a little short on points because of the Disney cruise we had taken that same year. So we made the best with what we had....it's not something we do on a normal basis. :D

Maria,
You obviously have much more experience with using air mattresses of various sizes in DVC resorts than I do since we have never used an air mattress at any resort. We are always under the room occupancy limit in any DVC resort villa by at least 1 - 3 people, so bedding is not an issue for us. My preception of the available floor space in a DVC studio for an air mattress is based soley on just eye balling the situation.
Now we have another bit of DVC resort info for interested DVC resort guests! OKW's studio has the largest amount of floor space for an air mattress; excluding the open floor space in the sink/closet area in a BCV, BVW, VWL studio.
Gotta love the DIS boards.

Well Deep, we drive to FL (and all of our vacation destinations)and we stay overnight in various econo motels on the way to rest during our 16 hour trip. So, yes....we have experience with air mattresses. But keep in mind, we travel with various amounts of people---anywhere from 4-8 at any time. When you have kids ages 11-16 and mixed sexes, even though we're at an occupancy of 4 in a studio, there is no way my 16 year son will sleep in the same bed as his sister. I think alot of families must have this sort of dilemma. So, yes, you develop the art of fitting air mattresses in the rooms. I know alot of people on the DIS do because there was a couple of threads on this board and "Disney Resorts" boards a couple months back. I was only using the air mattress example to help the OP factor in what "could" be placed in the rooms to give her an idea of floor space. And true, I agree, there is much to be learned here on our boards ;)

Qur kids are 9 and 10. They are fast approaching age where they dont want to sleep in same bed. We explained to them that in order for us to make these trips we werent going to be able to stay in a 2 bed everytime because of pts best usage.
Well we went ahead and booked an unexpected Mar trip and will book again for a long Oct trip(trying to take advantage of those APs). We told the kids what was going on and about the sleeping arrangements. DD says you mean we HAVE TO SLEEP TOGETHER, DS says I will sleep on the floor. I think in his mind he was thinking hey, a trip to WDW, the floor aint so bad! It was so cute.

I think the info on the air mattress is great.
to date we have not had more then allowed in any of our rooms but we have 3 teenage sons, and sharing a bed is a no-no.

Next fall our oldest is off to college. leaving only 4 of us if we want to take a little off-season, low cost trip. Since we do not spend a lot of time in the room either, I would opt for a studio, bringing an air mattress would avoid the dreaded "skin to skin" contact of two teenage brothers and limit "brotherly bonding" (or better known as punching and screaming to see who sleeps on the floor).

thanks for the suggestions
debbie

Thanks DeeDee....Glad you found it helpful.
