We just signed our contract for BWV!!! We're very excited but a little nervous. We're starting with a small contract that we can pay cash for and hope to add others in the future. We have a concern though - I know STD BWV rooms are hard to come by unless you call at exactly 11 months. We only bought enough points to cover a few STD view nights per year. We like to travel in the fall (Sep - Nov) avoiding holidays. I know it's hard to tell if we'll be able to get reservations, but is it a bad idea for us to purchase based on this philosophy? I know the points can be redistributed yearly, but at this point I'm more nervous about grabbing a room at 11 months prior.

Also, if we want to travel say 9/15 - 9/18, can we call on 10/15 the prior year and book all of the nights or do we need to call back every day to add on?
thanks!

It depends on the time of the year. I once got a standard view 1 bedroom for late April at 7 months. For September, you should not have a problem. October into November is Food & Wine Festival time, you definitely need to call at 11 months.

If you want 9/15-18, you would call on 10/15 and book up to 7 nights.

There are so many variables that the only sure way to tell is to experience availability for yourself.

As you may have read, I am a firm believer in buying where you love to stay. I don't like to settle for second choice. We have worked hard for our Disney vacations and even though we currently vacation at WDW 2 or 3 times per year, we look forward to each one.

Disney is really good at taking slow periods and turning them into popular periods. At one time they didn't have F&W or F&G. The hard ticket events now span several months, not just the holidays.

After a couple of disappointments, you will be buying additional contracts in no time. :goodvibes We now own 26 contracts at 5 resorts, just to make sure that we always get to stay at our favorite resorts, any time of the year.

I have been unable to book a SV studio at BWV for an early Dec reservation when calling 11 months out, but I did not call until MS had been open for several hours. I was able to call the next day and book for a vacation starting one day later. If you can call at 11 months out when MS opens and/or be a little flexible, you should be able to consistently book SV.

I would agree that Sept is probably one of the easier months to book. So far Disney's only promotion to combat the generally slow travel season and possible hurricanes has been free dining and this doesn't benefit those booking DVC on points. --Suzanne

I've booked standard views over F&W at 10 months three weeks out without issue. Back before you could call 11 months prior to check in day when people used to call day by day, I'd refuse to call day by day and just call once. Was always told I was snagging the last (or almost last) room, but got it several times. I think you'll be fine.

Mid-September is one of the easier times of the year to book DVC accommodations at the BWV at 7 months. If you call when the 11 month window opens, you will not have trouble getting your standard view villa.

Don't let either the "hard to book" or "EASY PEASY at 7 Month" stories sway you UNLESS they are talking about the same time of the year and same resort you are interested in. For example, early December experiences are interesting, but totally not relevant to mid-September chances.

Congratulations on your purchase.

Like September, another light season is late January, after the MLK 3 day weekend is over. We just booked 8 nights at a Standard View BWV for then, and we are 9 months out.
