BWV Std. at 7 months?

I'm considering trying BWV for our stay in mid-May (5/16-21) next year, and wondering how difficult it might be to get a std. view 1BR during that time frame?

Admittedly, we've not stayed at BWV before, mainly because I didn't like a lot of the old decor. The recent renovations definitely have me rethinking that! Thus, I've never paid that close of attention to how difficult BWV might be to get in to at 7 mos., particularly the std. category since it would be a savings on points.

Thoughts from BWV experts?

At 7 months out, standard view is hit or miss. Low points coupled with being only 25% of the rooms can often mean they are gone before 7 month window opens. Nevertheless, many have reported being able to get standard view at 7 months although just as many or more have reported failure. Mid-May is not a high demand time so you may get lucky but you should definitely reserve home resort during 11 month window to assure having a room.

Mid-May is possible, but still not probable. Call as soon as your 7 month window opens and don'tbe afraid to waitlist. You have a better chance of getting standard in May than you do most other months.

Thanks for the replies! We do have a ressie at SSR (our home - which we love), but are considering trying other DVC resorts. I will definitely call right at the 7-month mark if we decide to go with another resort.

We own at BWV but booked an "extra" 4 day trip just a few months ago for Sept. Nothing available at that time(probably 3 months out, can't remember exactly)except SSR and OKW. We booked OKW and waitlisted for BWV standard only because we didn't want to have borrowed points unused--our UY is Feb.

Long story short, our waitlist came through within just a few weeks for BWV standard view! I was shocked, even though it's a low travel time.

I have been able to get a std. studio at the 7th month mark for Sept. I waitlisted for our Oct trip and got it within a month of waitlisting.

I was able to get a 1BR Std View with only about 6 weeks notice, (different time period though), for mid-September (after labor day and before food & wine). I did a waitlist and it came thru.
