Hi,
I just rented a BWV studio from a DVC owner. Can you tell me where these rooms are located. Are there some rooms that are better than others? Does anyone have room numbers to request? We have never stayed at the Boardwalk or even been inside it so I am a little apprehensive about it. Thanks for your help. Sharon

Hi there! You may get a better response on the DVC board. I have never stayed at BWV either, but I am renting points to stay there for the first time in October. I asked the same question you did and I was told that standard view are usually the rooms the look over the entrance area. If you have ever pulled up to the BW, the rooms to the right of the entrance. The view looks ok, but nothing spectacular. I am just excited to be staying at the BW for such an inexpensive price during Food and Wine Fest!

Hope you have fun!

When you walk into the Boardwalk, the Villas are on the left, the Boardwalk Inn is on the right. A lot of the standard view rooms face the entrance, but I have also stayed in a standard view that faced another building - there was a small grassy area in between, but not much of a view at all. I don't mind the entrance view. The Boardwalk is beautiful at night when they turn on the lights around the outside of the hotel. One nice part about being close to the entrance is that it's close to the main pool. There are stairs and exits that make it easy to get out without going through the lobby.

I love the Boardwalk - you'll have a great time!

Actually, as you pull up to the resort, the villas are to the left of the entrance.

We are DVC owners with BWV as our home resort. We almost always get the Std View rooms. The lower point costs make them a great bargain, and frankly we prefer the view from our Standard to a Preferred pool view. If the DVC member nabbed a Std View for you, thank your lucky stars.

The Std View is primarily along the parking lot side of the Villas, which look out mostly on landscaping, some driveway or parking lot in view, but not much, and in the evening, you can see the Illuminations fireworks (the higher ones) from your unit! We love this Illuminations view.

As for locations, the farther out you are, the more Iluminations you will see; but you will likely also see a bit more parking lot (not much tho). Also, the higher up you are, the more Illuminations you can see, and also the more parking lot. So it's a trade off. You won't really see all that much parking lot. Actually, many DVCer claim that the "Bus Stop view" is the best Std view, as it's a short walk down the stairs and accross to the bus stop, or out to the quiet pool, but a Spectacular Illuminations view.

We love the BW location, so convenient to everything, and the lower cost of the Std View rooms means we end up spending even more time at WDW. You are very fortunate to get Std View, as most of these rooms are reserved well in advance my members (I reserve mine at 11 months). It's not for everyone, but we love our Std View.

Wow, I have been looking for just this information. Thank you for taking the time to post this. :flower: We are also renting points and staying 3 nights in a 1 bedroom standard view villa. We really got lucky as the timing just happened to work that when I responded to someone renting points, the 11 month window opened the next day. Now, I just have to wait for June 2006!!

Oops, my bad...thanks for catching it, diathoney and shannon! I just had a brain skip! I knew that the BWV are on the left...I swear! :teeth:

Can't wait to get there! :Pinkbounc

A couple of weeks back we had a standard studio overlooking the entrance to the BW. I liked the view.
