I never change the names until I am booked. Then I add later.

Me too, with the DVC booking system there are always the risk that you will get the dwarfs and that risk increases the longer you take to complete your reservation.

Thank you all for responding! If I am understanding correctly, I will be asked to enter guest names before my reservation is confirmed but should enter only the lead guest name at that point to get the reservation completed as quickly as possible.

Will the guest entry screen be the next screen after I select the room I want from the list of those available for my dates and hit [CONTINUE] at 8 a.m.? In other words the guest information cannot be entered before 8 a.m. at the 11 month window window, correct? Is there any other input required on that screen?

If suggest that you try to book a dummy reservation that way you can familiarize yourself with the booking process. Then afterwards you just cancel the reservation.

That is a good idea and leads to another question. I have no 2024 UY points available and no plans to take another trip in the 2024 UY, so I just need to make sure that when i make this dummy reservation I book (and then cancel) a trip that falls in my 2025 UY so points are not borrowed from UY 2025 to UY 2024, correct?

Yes. If your UY is March just make a reservation at any resort in April or May 2025.

Wow I felt really lucky today when the booking window opened for 11 months out. Managed to book both a BwV resort view AND a value studio.

Booked the value first because it has the fewest room and afterwards the BWV room was just waiting to be booked too.

Now we gotta decide if we wanna stay at BWV or AKV for our February trip next year.

Maybe I should go and buy a lottery ticket too

Studio? Kinda looks like it - Boardwalk view as well…
But here’s the thing about walking - as the walkers modify/move up their dates - you can usually pick up what you want (albeit piecemeal) behind them…

I think this happened to me. I wanted to book 3 nights (studio) at the end of my BCV trip to use up banked BWV points. I wasn't able to get what I wanted at exactly 11 months (Boardwalk View), but standard view was available before my BCV trip. I was really surprised. What the heck, I love Boardwalk View, but I got my banked points used and saved a few in my current UY. I can deal with standard view for 3 nights.
