BWV Standard View???

What is considered a standard view at BWV?

possibly anything that does not face cresent lake. it could be parking lot -- or the canal towards the swan/dolphin -- or towards the main enterance/epcot.

Most of them are along the front driveway. At one time they were also the rooms facing the canal across from the Swan/Dolphin but that was when the DVC offices were there blocking the view. Those may be preferred garden now that the building is gone.

The rooms that face cresent lake (about 20%) are BW View (preferred view point structure, guarenteed view).

The views that face the drive coming in are Standard View (again, about 20%)

Most of the remaining 60% of the rooms are preferred view (although some people have gotten the sales center as standard view, now torn down, and I think someone reported the room behind the keister coaster as being a SV room). These are the pools (Luna park or the community hall pool), the garden (generally including the Village Green area which is "almost" on the Boardwalk, although apparently sometimes this area is "Boardwalk overflow"), the canal between the BW and the S/D, and I believe the end of the resort overlooking the tennis courts - though those may be standard (there are rooms down there that are preferred view that basically overlook the parking lot).

Essentially...

Standard view = parking lot and roadway

Preferred view = pools, gardens, canal, toward Swan & Dolphin

Boardwalk view (same points as preferred view, but limited availability) = view of Crescent Lake

How hard is it to get a standard one-bedroom at BW? I have gotten standard studios by calling when the 11-month window opens. Does anyone know how many standard 1 BR's there are? Do they also have to be booked 11 months ahead like the studios?

One bedrooms book slowest, but I booked ours over food and wine eleven months to the day from checkout, and there were apparently only two available for the whole week.

We generally book a 1 bedroom standard view room when it's just my DH & I traveling. I book it day by day (we travel in early December). For that time of the year (essentially October - December), you need to call day by day for any standard view room. The studios and 2 bedrooms may book faster, but IMHO, it's only faster by a matter of hours. I've been told I've booked the last one when I forget to call at 9 am on the first day the winodw opens and call in the afternoon instead. That may not be the norm, but if you don't want to waitlist, you need to call day by day for standard views for most times of the year.

Best wishes -

We where in the end building faceing the tennis courts. Had a good view of MGM and a nice view of the lake there.
