Hi all,

Just bought into the BWVs. We have planned our first vacation for October 2006. We received a "preferred view" room.

We are now planning our second trip in January 07. Wanted to take advantage of the lower points for the standard view room. Plan on requesting a one-bedroom villa.

When making reservations, is there one area (room) better than another? We were thinking either "site for fireworks" or a some other type of "better" standard view.

Any help/opinion would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is top floor. That way, you might have a view that is above the tree line. I think all of the views are the same. I don't think any of them are bad.

Also, if you want the shortest walk to the buses and MGM, you might think about requesting "end of the hall closest to the bus stop".

I've also heard that ground floor is great as the patio area can be your front yard for the kids to run around in.

We've never made any specific requests and been very happy with both of the standard rooms we've had. Our first room was probably one across from the bus stop, although I don't remember exactly. The second was not quite as far, and where the hallway splits into a "Y". It was right across from the stairs that go out to the Luna Park Pool. My parents had the first room off the elevator and there's looked over the valet area. I personally don't mind the walk to get a little more of a lawn view.

When I booked standard view, I requested top floor across from the bus stop and always got a good fireworks view. I would not say fireworks view, the one time I did they kept saying there were no fireworks views, they said they put it down and we ended up preassigned to a first floor room (I don't think they put it down). Luckily a top floor room was open and was perfect.

We had a standard view studio once. It was near the end of a long hall. It had a view off to the right of Disney MGM's TOT, plus the canal. Straight ahead was a small lagoon, then tennis courts. To the left was the front entrance and parking. It was better than I expected. We couldn't see fireworks...I think you had to be around the corner from where I was. What we thought was neat was that we could watch fireworks from the balcony off the hotel lobby - in fact we could see the Wishes Fireworks front and center. It was pretty cool.

Our location was nice in that we were very very close to a stairwell that lead to either the parking lot or bus stop, and the pool areas. It was very convenient in alot of ways, however we were quite far from the lobby.

I think I requested fireworks view as well and was told that there was no such thing. I guess you can see them from the higher floors further down the hall though.

Good luck!
