BWV standard view room request

Anyone have any recommendations for studio standard view@ BWV?

I've been trying to pay attention to any posts about BWV & rooms since Oct, but most deal with boardwalk view or preferred view.

We plan to walk to HS 2 days & Epcot 2 days.
(we may walk though Epcot on return from MK also)

We like to come home mid day to swim, nap & change for dinner - so lots of trips to the room a day & easy pool access.


I plan on calling & adding the request to our reservation.
Our trip is in 27 days!

Hi: We've never stayed in a studio but have stayed with standard view several times. We've never had a bad room yet. Check out where the stairs exit- this can save you a bit of walking if they come down near the pools.

If we wanted a room near the stairs, do we just say "near the stairs" or do we need to know the building # or room # range?

Perhaps "across from bus stop" would be appropriate. If honored it would also give you a chance to see some of the Epcot fireworks.

The x123 rooms are the dedicated 1-BR corner rooms across from the bus stop. So from that point, start counting backwards and you'll be moving toward the elevators. x119 & x121 are the 1BR & studios closest to the bus stop facing Epcot (though I'm not sure which is the 1BR and which is the studio) but there is a big tree in front of those units, so you might want to ask for units in the X111 - X117 range.

The more specific your request (like a room#), the less likely it will be that you will get it. There are several sets of stairs along the hallways, so that wouldn't be a needed request. The hallways are long, so if there are mobility issues or strollers, a request for near the elevator(there's only 1), could be the way to go. The only request we usually have is either boardwalk view or standard view. No matter where the room is, you should have a great time. There is only one building for BWV by the way.

FYI, ground floor would mean no stairs or elevator (there's only one elevator group for all of BWV) ever needed to get to the Boardwalk (and boat transportation) and busses (if you exit out at the corner) You would only have to go "upstairs" to get to the lobby (since most dining is on the ground floor Boardwalk level)

Locking the patio door from the outside, however, is - if I recall correctly - impossible.

Generally speaking, low floors and close to the lobby (elevators) will be more convenient to the pool, the Boardwalk and the bus stop. Higher floors and farther from the elevators tend to have better fireworks views (but sometimes have trees blocking the view anyway). If you can take stairs easily (don't have a stroller), high floor far from the elevators can be really nice - but if you can't do stairs easily - or want to limit your stairs - its nice to be a flight or less away from the pool or bus stop.

At Boardwalk, the pool is on the 1st floor - the lobby and bus stop are on the second floor (Boardwalk is laid out sort of like a split level walkout home).

Yes, I believe you are correct that you cannot lock the patio door then walk through the grass for the shortest path to the bus stops. But you can exit through the door at the building corner (at the stairway, and it has a key reader for re-entry) and walk up the sloped sidewalk (along the creek) to the bus stop...

We had a room that we found perfect for us. It was a studio on the first floor, it was on the canal facing the parking lot. We found it closer for the walk to HS, plus we had a car and just parked in that parking lot - so it was closer for us to get to our car. When we walked to Epcot we just walked down the "long" hallways out to the lobby, out to the boardwalk and over to Epcot. Being in this section turned the walk to HS and Epcot almost equal about 15 minutes each.

Not great, about a third of the first floor doesn't have standard view rooms. Then there are another four floors.

Our nicest views from a standard view have been the ones farthest from the elevators.

We usually request "Bus Stop View" and have always ended up within a couple rooms of the stairwell near that heads to the sidewalk that cross directly over to the bus stop. We find that very convenient to get to the bus stop, the parking lot, and the Quiet Pool/Community Hall.

The only thing I now wonder about is what floor we'll be on....previously, at most, we were a couple floors up, but we also had requested non-smoking and I think the top floor(s) used to be smoking, right? I therefore wonder if we should request one of the lower floors too. The benefit of proximity to the parking lot will be lost if we have to lug groceries 4 stories (although I could use the exercise!)

The entire 2nd floor used to be 'smoking optional.'

"Water view" "facing Inn" "across from bus stop/parking lot" "end of building/furthest from elevators" "higher floor" "lower floor" probably best way(s) to note request & have best chance of getting request(s) then trying to get specific with a particular floor and/or room number.

I'm 42 and it depends on how my knees are holding up. And how hot it is outside. And if I have a stroller. And if that stroller is a double and accompanied by a two year old and a four year old. And the two year old needs a diaper bag....

We took the elevators a lot travelling with my extended family - which included the two and four year old. Who cares about the view when you need to get to the elevators on average three times a day with four kids (two in strollers, one in diapers), two seniors (my parents), one morbidly obese brother in law, one sister still bouncing back from chemo and all their related stuff?

(We are more 'fit it all in a fannypack and past stroller age' as a nuclear family - the stairs are - unless my knees are acting up - generally fine for us. My kids have stayed at the Boardwalk often enough now that the first thing they do is find the 'secret stairs' which is the 'shortcut to the pool').

My DS 10 has had the photo of the keester coaster he tore out of the dream book up in his room since last fall. So I know we'll be hitting that pool at least once a day.

What would be best to ask for in that case?

Since the trip to the park will be the same no matter where you are (going downstairs & 50/50 Epcot/HS). Of course coming home from park may make the whole stairs & stroller thing another issue.
