I am SO excited to be staying in a 1 bedroom villa (pool/garden view). Our first time as DVC guests and I am THRILLED!!!!

We are going the last week in Sep. (will be there for food/wine...which is just a bonus!!) and I am organizing a bit...

Few questions:

1. Is there a specific area of the resort that has been refurbished? I would sure like to get into a refurbished room.

2. I will be traveling with 2 young children (2 and 4) who nap and go to bed earlyish...where are the "quieter" rooms?

3. Do all villas have a balcony?

4. Is the Hess (sp) convenient mart located within walking distance?

5. How are the pull-out sofas for sleeping?...really :)

Thanks!!! I cannot wait...as I will be traveling with my mom and my mother in law (they are splitting the stay)...who hasn't been to Disney in 20 or so years...love going to "show-off" the World!!!

I know they did refurbish rooms, but I haven't been theere in a while so I can't say which ones they are, but it certainly doesn't hurt to put in a request for a refurbished room with MS.

I'd imagine your best chance for a quieter room would be furthest away
from the lobby, taking you further away from the main pool, pool view, and putting you closer to the quiet pool, although I've never had a problem with noise in a "non" boardwalk view (the boat horns can be annoying on the bw view - IMHO anyway).

As far as I know, all the villas have balconies, though some may be smaller than others.

Yes the Hess station is within walking distance, I'm going to estimate a 10-15 minute walk (correct me, someone, if I'm wrong)

My experience with the "newer" sleeper sofas has been that they really are comfortable.

BW area is a wonderful location! Have a great trip!

We stayed in a studio one night at BWV last May. Our room was looking out at the quiet pool. Very nice and quiet. We were on the ground level so we didn't have a balcony but rather a patio with two chairs and a table.

The pull out sofa should be fine for kids the age of yours. Our two teen aged kids complained non stop about how uncomfortable the sofa bed was.

Luckly we moved to SSR for the next nine nights in a two bedroom villa.:woohoo:

Have a great trip, the BWV are beautiful!

The Hess station is right across the street from the guard shack to the parking lot. I'd say no more than 5 minutes at an average pace.

It seems like the reports of refurbished rooms are all over the resort, although higher floors seem more common.
