BWV Question

DH and I are staying at BWV next month, during which time the Keister Coaster will be closed for rehab. I read on another board that those staying at BWI/BWV while the slide is closed will have access to Stormalong Bay. I was wondering if anyone else heard that? We're not DVC members so we can't call member services but I thought of calling BWI to see if they could give me more info. Though I'd check here first though. Thanks for your help

The last time Keister Coaster was being rehabbed and we were at BWV, you COULD use Stormalong Bay. They would Shuttle you over there in a golf cart. When are you going and where did you see the rehab dates? We'll be there the first week in Oct and personally I prefer the BWV pool. (But is was fun to try SAB that once.)

Thanks for your quick reply! We're going Sept. 23-27. I read about the rehab in the Mousesavers newsletter. It's scheduled to be closed from the beginning of Sept. until 9/26, so I think you'll be all set for your trip. I was so disappointed when I read about the Keister Coaster being closed for most of our trip...I was so looking forward to trying it! Maybe it will be re-opened on our last day....thanks again and have a great trip!

If you've never been to SAB it's a great opportunity to try it out. Most people think it's one of the better pools on WDW property. I found it very spread out though, and difficult to keep track of younger kids. Plus you have to walk across the main sidewalk to get to the pool slide.
Keister Coaster is my favorite slide. (except for those at the water parks) Maybe you'll be lucky enough to have it open a couple days before you return. Then you get to try both.

MY KIDS WOULD LOVE IT IF IT WERE CLOSED WHILE WE WERE THERE , THEY WANT TO GO TO SOB SO BAD....we dont get there untill the end of november though- so no luck for that happenning.. i still think you should get to use BOTH!

According to the DVC monthly newsletter: "Please remember that pool hopping isn't available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts." The quiet pool by community hall will be still be open to those staying at BWV. We can still pool hop anywhere but AKL & Stormalong Bay. They did not say we could use SAB while the Keister coaster is closed. That pool has been permanently removed from pool hopping use since there is now a DVC there in addition to the two hotels. The last time the Keister Coaster was closed for rehab BCV did not exist.

I am also staying at BWV 9/15-9/22. Keister Coaster is closed during our stay, much to DH's and DS's disappointment.

Because this is a birthday trip for DS, I decided it was worth calling and trying to get something worked out...so I just got off the phone with the Beach Club Villas rep and she confirmed through her manager that not only will WE BE ALLOWED to pool hop to SAB, but they will be providing transportation for BWV guests over to SAB.
You will need to tell the check-in rep at BWV that you'd like to pool hop to SAB, and they will arrange to get you wristbands that allow you access.

Thank you so much for making the call This is really helpful info. I know it sounds like a little thing esp. for 2 adults but DH and I were really looking forward to spending time by the pool this trip and trying out KC. So glad that we'll have access to SAB....thanks again and hope your son's brithday trip is extra special
