If you book a prefered one bedroom at BWV, are they all facing the lake, facing BCV and Epcot?? also what side are the villas, the white colored side of the resort or the red, or is it both? Thank so much.

Hi Jesse,
I think the preferred rooms are scattered all over.....some face the pools....some gardens......
I had one that primarily faced the valet parking lot but I did have a view of the canal (off to the side) as well as the TOT if I stood out on my balcony and faced 90 degrees to the right. But honestly, the majority of our view was the parking lot.
I believe the amount of actual rooms that face the boardwalk/Crescent Lake is small in comparison and you must reserve them as "boardwalk view".
If you have a preferred room, you might want to request a "pool view" so you don't get the view we had. I thought the main pool view was nice but it may be a bit noisy at times.
Here's the map of BWV---I marked my room with an "X". If facing our door to the room, about 3-4 doors to the left of me, were considered "standard" view.

On Mia's map:

The area above 11 is the "Village Green" area - usually preferred view (although some people apparently have gotten it as Boardwalk View - its pretty much an "almost" Boardwalk View room - I'm guessing they have a little flexibility here).

The area above 12-18 - Boardwalk View - this is a guarenteed booking category that costs the same number of points as preferred view.

The area FACING THE BUSSTOP/DRIVE in mauve/blue/green and wrapping slightly, but not fully, into the yellow is standard view. There may be a few standard views remaining that see the Keister Coaster slide scaffolding or something else on the other side of the building, but that is where MOST of the standard view rooms are.

The rest of the building, overlooking the pools, the Swan Dolphin canal, the croquet lawn, wrapping to Mia's X - preferred view.

Thanks so much, I guess if i decide to try and stay at the BWV then i will request a boardwalk view. Thanks so much.

and this is a terrific location.....very pretty here. I wish I would have gotten it ! Have fun at the BWV Jesse !

As you can see there are not many boardwalk view rooms. So be sure to book right when the 7-month window opens to improve your chances of reserving one. Good luck!

Boardwalk views are the best in Disney, IMHO.

Everyone has their own preferences and I so totally understand this......but.....my side is that there are so few of these actual BW view rooms. I like to sit out in my pajamas on the balcony early in the morning/late at night and sip my coffee or whatever. I would not want a 1st or 2nd floor BW view room. I'd prefer more privacy than that. If I was lucky enough to get a BW view room, I think I'd only take it if it were 3rd floor or above. I've walked by those ground floor BW view rooms and thought how easy it is to see everything inside the room. I'd feel like I couldn't sit outside at certain times and would have to keep my curtains closed alot. It's at least something to consider. But everyone is different. I could see the higher floor rooms would have fantastic views & more privacy as well.

On the map above, of the room numbers from 1032-5032 and beyond, which would be an actual boardwalk view? I can't quite make out the other numbers on the rest of the map. TIA

I was hoping for some further clarification. Are the preferred views BW, pool, Village, or a combination of all of them. If so, what actually constitutes it being "preferred".

I am not a BWV expert, but what was explained to me when I questioned my parking lot view was this.....
If you have a view of any water (canal, main pool, or quiet pool) or garden area, then it is "preferred". I had a slight view of the canal so my room was considered preferred even though the parking lot was the primary view.
Standard mostly has views of the parking lot or driveway as you pull up to the resort (in other words, the circle where you pull up to check-in). But I have seen some very nice standard views that had water view as well.....so hopefully an BWV owner can explain it further.

Only Disney knows.

Here is how I look at it, as a BWV owner:

If I want cheap points, I book standard view - I'm ALMOST CERTAINLY going to be looking at the drive, but the points are a bargain. But, if I call late, I may not get it.

If I want a view, I book Boardwalk View - I'm CERTAINLY going to be looking at the lake and the Y&BC. But, if I call late I may not get it. I'm not even a big BW View fan (a lot of people think its the best view at Disney - I'm reminded of the way they ruined Spaceship Earth) - but if its available, I take it, I know what I'll be looking at and won't be disappointed.

If I call and neither BW View or Standard View is available - I book preferred view. Its luck of the draw what I'll be looking at - but that is the same deal as any other DVC resort - sometimes you get a great view, and sometimes you are looking at a road. Preferred views at BWV are the same number of points as the dumpster view at VWL or the road view at BCVs.

I suspect a lot of BW owners are like me, we take the preferred views only if the other views are not available.

Any opinion on the pool view?

In my experience, you won't be given a choice (beyond BWView, Standard View or Preferred) - you'll be put in a room. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.
