Hi All,
I am at BWV now! Room is good, first stay here. Two issues so far. Showed up at 3:45PM last Thursday and was told room would be ready soon, finally got into room at 7:00PM, not happy. I am now on day four, no mousekeeping services provided. No clean towels and no trash service. I don't want to seem like I am complaining, but this is not what I invested into DVC to receive for service. I understand that it is limited, but I should at least be treated as a guest and service should be as described. It seems that now that they have my money, nothing really matters. BTW I did call and get fresh towels delivered. The weather is great!

As to problems described particularly the super late access to room, you shoud report them to DVC's complaint group (there is an email for it but don't have it with me). Note, today is not day four of your trip if you arrived last Thursday for purpose of trash and towel service. You count day of arrival and day four was Sunday. If they did nothing then, then by today they were two days late.

Thanks, I will check for the address. You are right, day four was Sunday. Time is going slowly and I like that!!! No service provided at all.

Here is the email address for the Member Satisfaction team - DVCmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com

I would also ask to speak with the resort manager to express your concerns about your stay. The more you can do while onsite, the better chance you have of getting the issues resolved and also bringing the problems to the attention of those responsible.

Just want to echo what Doc said--if you have any problems with your stay, simply call the appropriate department from your guest room phone or stop by the front desk.

Regarding the trash & towel service, bear in mind that if you had the "Do Not Disturb" sign out on the door for any period of time, housekeeping will not attempt to service the room. They should check back several times but I can see how the ball could get dropped in that sort of circumstance. Fortunately, as you found out it just takes a phone call to get the towels replaced.

As for the late room entry, to some degree I think that's an unfortunate byproduct of any timeshare. Timeshares are designed to be at 100% occupancy pretty much year-round. On any given day, if the BoardWalk Villas have 100 rooms being vacated, it's very likely they have 100 new incoming guests. (As a side note, Disney's cash hotels average about 85% occupancy so they almost always have extra rooms.)

The resort does have a responsibility to staff appropriately to clean all of the rooms, but other problems can delay room entry. Things like maintenance issues (plumbing, mechanical) and extraordinary housekeeping issues (dirty carpets, prior guest smoked in the room) could cause an incoming guest to get into their room late.

Instances of late room entries do appear to be few and far between. In 8 years as members we have never gotten into our room later than 2:30pm. Don't mean to sound like I'm trivializing your difficulties; just pointing out that you shouldn't have to worry about the late entry being a recurring problem. It will probably happen to all of us over 40-50 years of ownership, but certainly not year-after-year.

Despite our success in getting into the room early, I've found that it's best to have very loose plans on your arrival day. You never know when flights will be delayed, luggage lost or delayed, rooms not ready as expected, etc. Best not to plan any special events or high-end dining reservations which would require room access (change of clothes, etc.) by a certain time.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Thanks for all opinions. We did speak to the manager and he was very sympathetic. He offered us a dinner and sent a fruit basket up. No hassle at all. Once again, this is why I love Disney!!!!

Just wondering, did you have a linked reservation or are you doing the partial ddp? We had the partial ddp in January, and the first day was linked and our housekeeping schedule was a mess. I never knew when they might be coming by. We were there for 13 nights, so was scheduled for a variety of services. Didn't know if any of these issues are part of your reservation. As for getting in the room late, that is late. The latest I've ever gotten in was 5:30PM.

For arrival on Thursday, day 4 is Sunday. As noted, a segmented stay could impact it as could the do not disturb sign being out.

Our last visit to BWV we checked in at 7:00 am and our room was not ready until 6:00pm and this was during Sept. It was a very slow week at the parks. Just wondering..I know we should not expect our room to be ready until at least 4:00pm but how long after that time should we have to wait? Is it written anywhere that our rooms should be ready by a certain time? I did get annoyed by having to wait until 6:00pm when I checked in 11 hrs before.

Did you have a specific request? In the dozens of trips taken we have never had to wait like that, I beleive the latest we ever got into the villa was 5pm or shortly after.

I think the terminology is room will be ready after 4 PM and don't think there is a "and before----" in there anywhere. We have been fortunate most times and gotten our room by at least 4pm. The exceptions have been at BWV and BCV where we have had to wait until after 4. Hope the rest of your stay was positive and that you do not run into any problems with future trips.

The rest of our stay was great. I didn't think there was a "before" time, although there should be.

We also had the same check-in experience at BWV in June 2010. Checked in at 730 am and didn't get into our room until 5 ish. We always stay at BCV and don't think we ever had to wait past 2 pm. Yes, I was annoyed too. We "discovered" where our room was early that morning and the housekeeping cart sat outside of it most of the morning into the afternoon. It was a tease because I don't think she started cleaning it until after her lunch break.

We checked into AKL for 1 night this week and when we checked in at 11 our room was not ready so we headed out for a while. When we returned at 2:00 they said it still was not ready and probably would not be until close to 4 so I simply asked if any other 1 bedroom was ready that we could have instead. CM was great looked into it and by 2:15 we were in our room. I realize there was a good chance there might not have been a room but always ask anyway. I used to work at a resort that blocked rooms regularly which is what DVC tends to do so I know there is a chance something else could be available.

Hi. I agree with everyone's advice to make your complaints known while you're there. And skimming over the postings, it looks like you took care of that. There are some owners who think they should put up with having to clean a room after they check in, etc., but IMHO all they do is lower the standard and hurt the rest of us. We were all sold high-end accommodations and we should expect no less.

I was just thinking that there are a load of people down here right now because Daytona was Sunday. It could be part of the reason (not that I'm excusing it) that your room wasn't ready. This is a really busy week with Daytona and the shuttle launch. They estimated that 300,000 people went to see Discovery launch today just before 5 pm. The 11 pm news showed live pictures of the traffic still backed up for miles and miles coming back into Orlando.

But the weather is absolutely beautiful.:dance3: I hope you're having a wonderful time.

We have owned at the BWV's since '99. We have stayed at all the DVC resorts with the exceptions being SSR and BLT's, the longest waits for rooms that we have experienced has been at the BWV's. It has improved over the last few years and management seems more responsive. I have noticed if we put the do not disturb sign on the door, housekeeping will leave a message to call when we require more towels.

We have found that BWV 's are the longest wait. This past December we had a GV and 2 SVstudios. I was shocked that they were all ready at 4:30 when we checked in....or so we thought! DD and DSIL went to their room around 6:00 to find that it hadn't been cleaned!!! The front desk and Mousekeeping were great, the room was ready by 8:00, fortunately they were hanging in our GV so didn't mind....well not much.
