BWV Preferred View

Hi Weluvdisny!-

We were located on the fifth floor room 5055 which is a studio three rooms in from the outside 5th floor above the weyland gallery area which is facing directly in front of the community green. From the room you could see the espn area and top of epcot "ball". and standing on the balcony you could see all across the lake to bc/yc and espn area - an unbelievable view - it was so unexpected - I wanted to just stay there one night and look at all the fireworks displays from our room - we even got to see the tops of the wishes fireworks, and illuminations! it also wasn't a far walk to the elevators too! Just can't say enough great things about that room! If you have any questions ask away! We have photos taken of the room, but they are on dh's camera right now!

Have realistic expectations.
No sarcasm there.

If you would relook at my question, I edited it so that I wouldn't get the exact sort of reply that you gave me.

I will ask at check in if there is a room in the area of my choice and if there's not, no big deal. I'm very realistic.

No there isn't any sarcasm there, I'm sorry if you took it that way. A lot of people don't have realistic expectations - especially if renting points for a first DVC trip, and I'd rather help set lower expectations before your trip (and have you mad at me) than have you show up to one of the rooms at the Boardwalk that has a lovely view of someone else's window and be told "I'm sorry, ma'am the resort is full" by a CM. I'm glad you do and will be happy with what you get, but don't be surprised if you are not given the choice of a room, or if the cast member looks at you like you've grown two heads when you ask if there is one in the area - that isn't the way BWV works in my experience. I was told, quite nicely, last time I checked in "your room has been preassigned, ma'm, its a nice room" - which is pretty much what we've been told every time.

Now, other people have had much better luck than I am - maybe I look like someone who deserves to be disappointed or maybe I look like someone who will be content and not throw a fit - don't know - but in my experience, you get what you get at BWV. I've never gotten a bad room (there apparently are some) - but I've never gotten anything close to what I've asked for.

I hope you get a great view and are very happy with it.

My first time renting points from a DVC owner will be an experience I will never forgot. We're also taking down 4 people who have never been. So I really hope that everything goes well. That said, it includes paying extra for a PV and I don't want to be disappointed with a view of a dumpster. My first choice was a PV at AKV, but when they were all sold out, we took the chance and paid extra for a nice view at BWV. I just want a "nice view". It doesn't have to be the best one in the joint. I'll be happy with nice. People on this board know alot more than me about these places and I was looking for an opinion of where the PV might be located and what sort of view you would get. The amount of time we are actually going to spend in the room probably makes it a waste of money, but the 3 balconies we get as part of the room makes me want to use it to have a nice view.

No harm no foul, crisi.
