BWV Preferred or Boardwalk view??

BWV is not one of our homes, but have booked at our home resort at 11 months and called at 7 months to check on what is available. Both times we were able to get in for the days we wanted with a Boardwalk view. Both times in June. Just lucky!

Noise was never an issue for us and our DGD absolutely loves it there.

June is what we would be looking for! :thumbsup2
I'll call MS and book Kidani tomorrow, then when the 7 mo. mark rolls around we'll see what they have at BWV. :) 4 months from now I may decide it is too much of a hassle to move to another resort. I am not a fan of split stays.

Noone budged---particularily BWV manager. He repeatedly insisted it was preferred. This was several years ago, so perhaps they changed this ?

Maria...I think that is exactly what happened. When I put together this "map" of BWV views a couple of years ago the consensus was that the SV rooms now extend all the way along the south side of the resort (facing the pond & valet parking).

I will add that there are apparently a couple of SV rooms in the main pool area too. There have been reports of a couple of the rooms that look out at the back of Keister Coaster pool slide have been charged SV points.

But I'm pretty sure that the room that you got charged PV points for is now classified as SV.

Thanks for the update Granny. I fully believed all along it should have been---obviously others backed me up after my experience. I even told them at the time they should expect more complaints. Glad to hear our voice was heard :thumbsup2

we normally stay BW view now, and it is something everyone should try at least once, imho :cloud9:
we have never had a problem with BW noise keeping us awake at night. however, we did have a problem while staying preferred luna park view last year: a family were loudly playing in the pool around midnight. apparently, someone must've complained and it stopped.
we had multiple incidents of noise at BCV (yelling, screaming, crying in the hallways around 5am, and as late as 3am). we have wondered if BCV rooms are not as noise-proof as BWV, because we found the noise on multiple trips made it difficult to sleep through the night. we also found the lobby one of the least relaxing of any DVC/ deluxe WDW resort (i like to relax and read a book: it was impossible to in the BCV lobby or solarium. i wound up walking over to the BW for my "quiet time").
we found SSR and some of OKW very relaxing and quiet. of course, kidani would definately be the best choice for quiet, but i would suggest at least trying the BWV - it's an incredible resort:)

Thanks! I booked our first 7 nights at Kidani this morning. I'll call at the 7 month mark and see what's available at BWV. If the answer is "nothing" I will probably book a second week at Kidani and waitlist for BWV. :)

We have friends who love BCV, but I am just "eh" on that resort.
