BWV pool slide rehab ?

We leave 10/26 for BWV and did not get a letter about the repairs of the slide at BWV's pool that was reported on these boards to be closed from 10/3-10/29. Does anyone that has been there recently know if the repairs are still going on or if they finished the repairs sooner than expected? I'm hoping that we get a chance to pool hop to SAB at least for part of our trip. Thanks!

FYI, there is absolutley NO pool hopping to SAB. It has been off limits since they opened BCV. The pool at AKL is also off limits to pool hoppers.

As far as the first part of your question, I'll let someone else answer, since I don't know the answer.

DVCDave-Thanks for your reply. FYI, I know there is no pool hopping to SAB since BCV opened. However, a couple of weeks ago someone who was staying at BWV earlier this month posted that they had received a letter from BW management that the pool slide at BWV's pool would be undergoing rehab from 10/3-10/29 and BWV guests would be able to use SAB during that time. I was just checking to see if the pool slide repairs were finished since I had not received a letter about this and I will be staying at BWV next week. I'm sorry if I was not clear about my question.

I knew what you meant Donna! They're going to let us hop over to BCV while the slide is down and even provide transportation. We are arriving on the 23rd, but unfortunately, I won't have any way to let you know.

I checked the resorts board, and there is no news there.

I suggest that you call MS tomorrow - they will be able to find out if the work is done.

Hi Donna,
We received the letter you were referring too and we also hope to pool hop to SAB for a part of our stay! We arrive 10/25. I haven't heard anything so we may just have to wait till we get down there to see how far along the rehab has gotten. Our letter also stated they would be providing shuttle transportation to SAB for BW guests. Someone else posted that would be a seperate boat for all of us over to SAB. I thought that would be real nice!

I didn't know that pool hopping was allowed to SAB while the rehab is in progress.

I'd received the monthly emial from MS, and also the vacation Magic a week ago. Both had a paragraph on pool hopping restrictions, specificaly mentioning SAB and AKL.

We just got back. The pool slide was closed yesterday morning and looked like it would continue to be closed for some time. I believe they are painting and repairing the struts. Yes, pool hopping for BW guests (both the inn and the villas) to SAB is allowed during this period. If you walk to the Luna Park pool there will be a golf cart there to ferry you over, or you can catch the MGM boat, or just walk over (it isn't far - even the four year old made it both ways). Bring your room keys and they will give you a wrist band (or if you take the golf cart they will give you a wrist band).

SAB itself is having a bit of repairs as well, one of the bridges is under repair so you can't take a tube completely from one end to the other.

We will be leaving Wednesday for a 10 day stay and also received the letter stating the slide would be closed for rehab. And yes, it also stated that pool hopping to SAB would be allowed and transportation provided. It is slated to reopen by the end of the month.

Crisi--thanks for sharing your experience with the pool rehab. That's great about the golf cart especially if you have kids. Its just my DH and I this time and we really love the walk around Crescent Lake.

MinnieGi, kathleena, and ceejay--Maybe we'll see you there. I'll have a turquoise and lime green striped beach bag and a tan Mickey sunvisor. I always put my pool wristband around my sunvisor strap.

DVCDave--that's okay. You were just trying to prevent me from getting into an embarrassing situation. Believe me, I've been at SAB when they've had to eject people who weren't staying there and I wouldn't want to be in that situation at all!

I will try to remember that bag!

I'll be at BWV for 2 nights then over to the BCV for 6 nights. I was disappointed when I heard about the clown slide and the kids were hoping to get to use both pools.

Maybe we will hop over to BW after the slide reopens on the 29th!

Hmmmmm how would you know me? Well, if you see someone with almost pure white hair with her 30ish daughter and three kids in tow, that might be me! I usually wear a teal OKW visor......................and always Tinker Bell shirts. Oh and my pool sandals are sport Birkenstocks with mango straps! Hard to miss those, people can't believe Birk makes something other than those old granola ones!

Most definately pool-hopped over to the SAB.....with DH...and DS and fam....since our BWV pool-slide was being re-habbed......read it first on the boards and then rec'd a letter stating we had permission to do so (a few days before we left)......We were at BWV's from the 12-18th......went later in the day to the SAB on Wed I think.........
