BWV Pool Rehab

Today is Jan 7th. Is anyone at the world who knows - did the BWV main pool close for rehab today?
I arrive at BWV 2/10, and the latest that I read says it will re-open 2/16. I hope they are early because 2/15 is my check-out day!

I hope they are at least on schedule because 2/16 is my check in day!!! Then again, if they're running late, I assume they'll still keep the planned policy of allowing BW guests to go over to SAB. So it sounds like a no-lose proposition.

What are they doing to the pool area?

From the very limited details I've read, this appears to be a maintenance-oriented rehab, not an upgrade one. In other words, basic repair/resurface/re-paint.

That's what I heard too. And I'm crossing my fingers that they are over-estimating the time the rehab takes, because, while we like SAB, we are looking forward to a new pool (new to us).

SAB is stormalong bay, the mini "water park" at the Yacht Club/Beach Club. Usually it is closed to everyone except registered YC/BC/BCV guests. It is nice, and it is right across the lake from BWV. I heard that the last time there was a rehab at the BW pool, they provided transportation to SAB. But it's not that far.

In essence, there already is existing transportation from BW to SAB (via the boat routes between the Epcot resorts and MGM/Epcot). And as auoraaiella mentioned, it's really not a long walk - 5-10 minutes max depending upon you pace.

SAB is a nice alternative - but as stated - it is a long way to walk back to BWV from BCV in January in a wet bathing suit! I had heard rumors that they might take folks over on golf carts - but I can try to confirm that as well.

I have this feeling I will be calling the front desk and asking for my transportation to BCV and they will tell me "it is right outside at the boat dock..." oh well. There are two quiet pools and a couple hot tubs at BWV I can still use. Plus - I checked the weather and it is looking somewhat cold and rainy for next week. Oh well again. My DD7 asked if she could still go on Space Mountain if it rains and I said "heck yes!" so then she was fine.

Some people aren't aware of this information. Just thought it was a good opportunity (thread) to share with everyone.

I called BWV and yes the Luna pool is now closed until 2/15. Does that help any?

Hi all,

Just got back yest.

The Luna Pool at BWV is closed. Looks they are justing painting again.
There is transpo via golf carts from BWV to SAB at Y&B, which my DD 8 prefers anyway. We only got a ride once because we weren't sure how to find the drivers. I'm sure that if this was an issue we could have found someone and requested a ride but we enjoy the walk and it is not very far. Hope this helps.

Sorry... got busy running around here at WDW! Yes - the pool is closed. Big white fence around the pool. However, nice golf cart shuttle over to BCV. Lifeguards are standing at the entrance to the pool and will drive you right over - very convenient. Saturday was warm enough to do that. We swam yesterday - but were the only ones in the quiet pool at BWV! It is a little chilly - low 60s ish. But, having a ball. Crowds are a little more than last year, but I think the marathon traffic will be gone by tomorrow.
