Checking CRO won't do you any good - the inventory is seperate. Once a room hits CRO inventory, it isn't in DVC inventory any more. And you have to be a member to check DVC inventory.

Are you serious? She took your money and intends to keep it even though she didn't and can't book the room? If this is a "friend's" sister, I'd definitely be talking to my "friend" about her ethics! That is SO wrong.

Is it possible she has you on a waitlist and that's got her points tied up? If so, have her book you at any available resort, and then switch you to BWV when and if it becomes available. Otherwise, yes, it is possible you will be shut out completely.

That strategy won't do you any good. Anything you can see on the WDW website are CRO rooms and not available to DVC. The only way you can check availability is to have a member call MS and find out. They won't talk to non members.

BWV is her home resort. She says she can't book another resort without me having to pay state tax on a non home DVC resort. I really don't want to hand over any more money to her.

I don't know where she got her information, but my home resort is SSR and I booked BWV for September and I did not have to pay another cent. There is no additional charge for you to stay at ANY of the DVC's on WDW property. If she can't get BWV, tell her to try SSR or OKW, they may have something. Good luck and I would tell her that you have talked to some DVC members on this board. That way she will know that she cannot make up fake tax charges and get away with it with you. That really burns my butt.
