We are BWV owners and have always stayed at the Boardwalk with a few nights at AKL. For our September 2009 trip, I have handed over the planning reins to my sons for a few of the decisions.( I know shocking!!) One decision that they get to make is which resorts we will be staying at for our vacation. My DS(8) has chosen AKL, which was no surprise as he loves animals. My DS(5) has chosen BCV; I think the huge pool was a draw for him. Now, onto my questions...

For those BWV owners, who are use to staying in a Boardwalk view villa at BWV, but have also tried BCV, did you love BCV? I am excited to try somewhere new, but it is hard to beat the Boardwalk views and Savannah views at BWV and AKL. How are the views at BCV? I would love to hear all that you loved about BCVs. Of course, all of this will be a moot point if we can't get switch our BWV ressies over at the 7 month window, but I thought I would ask. Just DVC dreaming:cloud9:

Thank you for any and all replies!:thumbsup2

We stayed at BCV a couple years ago. I enjoyed our stay there but no way I would suggest it changed my attitude for BW, still my favorite!

I don't own at BWV but I've stayed in the Boardwalk view rooms several times. I've also stayed at the BCV so I'm offering my opinion. While the BCV are nice, I much prefer the BWV and the views there. The views at the BCV are nowhere near as special...just a view of greenery or of the pool area. When we stay at the BCV it is, simply, because of Stormalong Bay. Having access to the SB complex definitely makes the BCV stay worth it but aside from that, and don't flame me BCV owners/lovers, we definitely prefer the BWV to the BCV.

own at BW and done both.

like the BCV - you could see the fireworks but many of the villas - not just the few at BWV.

now at BWV like standard view - at BCV this view is not there.

that say - even the parking lot view -- you might be able to see wishes at the MK.

what I really liked at BCV was the very, very short walk to Epcot - it cuts the BWV walking time in half or more.

also love Cape May Cafe so even if staying at BWV will walk over to this place.

liked the quieter atmosphere - didn't feel like I was on exhibit like did at BW view at BWV

definitely liked the marketplace for refillable mugs - on my last visit the pool bar guys at BWV were saying had to go to the bakery.... do you know how long the lines for that place can get.

hate standing in line over 15 minutes for a free drink.

like all the pools at BC & bcv - don't just run over to SALB - the quiet pool at BCV is very, very nice. love the hot tub here.

didn't like the fabric on the sofa - know they are afraid of getting the fabric wet from SALB - but hey it doesn't have to feel like scratch paper.

A BCV room will be much quieter than a BW view room at BWV. While you can catch a glimpse of Illuminations at Epcot above the trees at a lot of BCV rooms, the view is not the top feature of BCV.

It's top features are it's location right outside of Epcot, Stormalong Bay, and the fact that you don't have to go outside to grab something to eat. Having onsite character dining is a plus.

We love both BCV and BWV.

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies. I am sure we will have a great time if we get the chance to stay at BCV. We'll be at WDW, and that's all that matters. We are such creatures of habit in my family. We tend to stick to what we know and love. However, I am excited about trying a new resort. Of course we will have to walk over several times to BWV, so that my dad can sit and listen to the music there. He loves sitting on the balcony and listening to the music that they pipe through the speakers on the Boardwalk. To many seeing the castle is the moment that they know they are at Disney, to my dad, it is hearing that music.:cool1:

They are very different in feel. I feel like BC is more family friendly for young kids because of the pool and the character meal. BW is more grown up. AK is gorgeous and exotic. Even though we are BW owners and have now stayed at all the deluxe hotels except CR and the Poly I think our favourite will always be WL for the cozy peacefulness. That's the great thing about all the different resorts. So many different themes for so many different tastes. We have enjoyed all your stays and I am sure you will find BC magical too - have a great time!

unfortunately, no (we own at both, so really, REALLY tried (repeatedly) to love BCVs).

it is a beautiful resort, we just don't care for the noise level in the common areas & hallways :headache: , crowded pool, & views (EPCOT view was of tree tops; the parking lot filled with cars & exhaust fumes is within feet of the resort).
however, the lobby has both Art the greeter, as well as Teena (a wonderful CM, who's also a DISner). there is a beautiful atrium, as well as the sandy beach to watch illuminations from (and/or movies;) ).

everyone is different ~ you should definately try it for yourself :)

We own and stay at both. We don't stay at BCV for the view, enough said.
