BWV or OKW

Hi there
I will be 7 months out next week for our summer vacation and I am having difficulty deciding on where to book. There are two important factors that are going into my decision, they are proximity to the parks/efficient transportation (we will not have a car) and a relaxing environment. I have stayed at OKW before and loved it, but I don't have a car this time and the restaurants on OKW grounds have very limited vegan options. I have never stayed at BWV, but I love the idea of being close to all of the restaurants, especially in EPCOT, but I am not sure how quiet it will be. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't tried the BWV I would highly suggest it. The proximity to Epcot and DHS is great, either walking or a boat ride. We have also found that the bus service isn't all that bad to MK or AK. Though I have read stories of the opposite. Now as far as being a quiet area, I guess that depends on your definition of quiet. The Boardwalk area itself is always active especially at night with performers and with the adult oriented entertainment. The Luna Pool is busy but there is a quiet pool as well. All things said we are a little biased because as a family we love the BWV area. I'm sure whatever you decide you'll have a great time and you will be in Disney!

We recently stayed at OKW, and it was the first non-car stay there. I was rather nervous about that. but I can tell you that everything worked out great. Maybe it was just luck, but we never had to wait long for a bus. And even though we were not in the HH category, the walk to the HH was short enough, even for our 2yo and 4 yo granddaughters, and their short legs.

i would opt for staying somewhere you haven't.
the BWVs are actually quite serene during the day (lots of places to read, stroll, relax, etc - the exception is mid-afternoon at the main pool, during the "pool party"). evenings are busier on the BW, but we haven't had any problems sleeping while staying BW view, many, MANY times :) standard & P/G views tend to be quieter.
you can choose from restaurants at BW, BW, swolphin, as well as EPCOT & DHS, even mini-golf, all within walking distance.
hth :)

Having stayed at, and owning at, both resorts I'd suggest BWV. Don't get BW view as that can be noisy. We are booked there for August and I cannot wait. Will be our 4th stay at BWV. It is so nice to walk to/from Epcot and HS. And there are tons of dining options. Just research what room location request to ask for...that is a quieter location. Maybe pool view of the quiet pool and not the main pool.

We did two nights at OKW recently followed by 7 at BWV. I would go for BWV for sure with no car. Resort to spread out, bus takes forever to go around resort also at OKW. We loved riding the boat to Epcot and HS from BWV. The only noise we had from our standard view room was fireworks/music from Epcot and HS. But it was short.

Thanks for all of the advice, I think I will try to rent at BWV due to the number of available food choices.

We wanted BWV as our first choice and OKW for our second. Unfortunately BWV was not available for our dates, so we are doing OKW. With that being said, I would opt for BWV, hands down. You can walk or take the boat to Epcot to eat, and go over to Beach Club to eat also.

Boardwalk is my family' s favorite location...dinner at Epcot most nights for us. My 19 year old daughter would choose Beach Club for pool but BWV is a little closer to Hollywood Studios. I, dad, prefer Boardwalk. Park Hopper tickets almost a must if you stay in this area.

OKW has nice big rooms and we have had good luck using Disney Transportation. If most of your time will be at AK or MK then you may want to stay at OKW.

Note that if the reason you are picking those two resorts is that BWV Standard Rooms are almost the same costs - your chances of getting those rooms at seven months for July through a rental are not great. They are often booked up by owners before the seven month window opens - and renters are starting to catch on and finding owners to book those rooms early. You are far more likely only to find availability for preferred view rooms at the Boardwalk - so you should take that into consideration.

If cost is the driving factor for those two resorts, I'd say BWV Standard if available, then OKW.

BWV is our favorite location because of the access to two parks and the standard room point costs. Now if I wasn't able to get the standard room at BWV, I'd rather be at BCV because of SAB pool since that is the same cost as the BWV preferred room.

If BWV had rooms the size of OKW, it would be perfect.
