We have a 1 brm booked coming up at the BWV and are waitlisted at the BC for a 1 brm. Reason being, family wants to use SAB. What are we giving up, if anything, by switching to BC from BW? Is it worth not being right at the BW just to swim in a pool?

I don't think you are giving up anything. The desireability of SAB for your use would make BCV the winner. You can walk to the BW and also pool hop to BWV. Some might make the BW view an overriding factor, but the chances of not getting that view are pretty high. Now if you could get a standard view BWV and save a bunch of points then I personally would go for it. I al depends on SAB as I see it.

I posted the same question about a month ago. We had to switch our trip for the 3rd time and on the 3rd time found that we could not get standard view at BWV only preferred view. While on the phone w/MS found that BCV were also available. I debated for a while because of the intrigue of BCV, especially SAB. People posted we could not pool hop but I think you can as long as it is not busy. We are going the 3rd week in Oct. and don't see it being busy. Still plan on staying a BWV cause I like having 2 balconies in a one bedroom and I like to walk back from MGM especially after Fantasmic gets out. I may change my mind but I love BWV. No-one gave me a great reason to switch to BCV.
When I read that the themostats weren't working properly in BCV I stuck to my home.

We were at BWV the first week in April and there was a big sign at Luna Park pool saying only resident of Boardwalk could use the pool. Nobody was enforcing it, though. I'd say as long as you can't get standard view and you have to spend the points anyway, stay at BCV and check it out.
