Hi there.

We almost purchased SSR this past Dec but we were wary because we knew we would want to stay at Boardwalk or Beach club.

I'm currently trying to talk to a DVC Guide about how to purchase points for those resorts.

I understand from reading their is a waitlist..Is there also a min points you need to purchase? (more than 150?) or anything else I should know about?

I'm really annoyed at our guide from Dec..I wish he would of told us we could do something other than SSR...anyways...

Nothing against SSR by the way..We just like to be in the epcot area.

Thanks for your help!!!

I just bought BWV last Friday directly from Disney. My guide didn't even try to sell me on SSR. He asked about my family's personal preferences, what we liked most about Disney, things like that. NO PRESSURE whatsoever. I have already made July and December reservations. Good luck.

Thanks RobMags. I'm on the waitlist for BCVs :yay: I really hope its not a long wait!!

Hope that it is not too long of a wait. When I made my ressie for July, every resort was available EXCEPT BCV. So if that is where you want to stay, I would buy at BCV.

Question.....when you went on the waiting list for BCV, did you have to pay a deposit? We are considering BCV through DVC and wanted to know what to expect.

Yes..$500 deposit to get on the waitlist. She really couldn't tell me how long the wait would be...

Actually, I just placed my name on the BCV waitlist today, and my guide told me the $500 doesn't get charged until the points become available. They have your card number on hand for when the opportunity presents itself.

That's what I was told as well. I joined the waitlist for BCV on the 14th.

My mistake..Sorry. I was just told it would be applied to the purchase. I assumed it was to get on the waitlist.

I got BWV points from Disney because I love The boardwalk. Much better views than BCV.

What if I want to buy 25 points at VWL or BWV through Disney. Does a 25 point deed need to come into Disney, or are they able to break up larger blocks they have purchased into smaller blocks?

I am looking at 150 point contracts for either, but would really like 175, which is hard to find...

Once you own DVC you can buy directly for as little as 25 points. In order to buy from Disney for the first time you will need to purchase 150 points you could find smaller resale , good luck

To add a further explanation, an initial contract from Disney requires a minimum purchase of 150 points - you can always make a larger purchase (we did at SSR). Add-ons to your contract can be as small as 25 points (cash) or 50 points (for Disney financing). Of course, they'll be happy to sell you more points if you wish.

To start off at DVC with fewer than 150 points, you would have to go the resale route. Some smaller contracts are available, but getting through ROFR with a small contract is tricky. There is a thread on the disBoards that reports who made it past ROFR, who was ROFRed, and who is waiting to hear the results of ROFR. Of course, the only information they have is the information reported by other disBoarders, but most small contracts are being swept up by Disney. I believe there is only one 25-pointer that's on the 'Passed ROFR' list currently - but it shows that it can be done.

Well, I appreciate all the help!

With all this advice, I just got a 150 point BWV resale today, and as soon as it closes, I'll get myself added on the waiting list to add 25 points (instead of trying to hold out for a 175 on my desired use month).

Just so that everyone knows if you are no particular about your use year Disney does have some BCV points available for purchase as of this morning.
