Hi All!

I'm planning a 6 night trip starting June 1, 2013 for my DS, who will be 9, and myself. We'll be staying in a studio room, but I'm having a hard time deciding between BWV or BCV. We both like to walk so I'm not worried about distances from the room, elevator, pool location, etc. DS does love his pool time but we rarely spend too much time back at the hotel during the day, might be different this time with the proximity of both Epcot and HS. We both have a mild fear of clowns and I was wondering if this is only an issue at BWV's main pool or not. BCV's pool looks wonderful, but it is more points to stay there than BWV. I've read some older threads on this topic but was hoping to get some current opinions.

Thanks in advance!
Nicole

I think you will be fine with BWV if you want to save points. There is a quiet pool with no clown! The only thing I like better about Beach Club is that they have a self serve mug station, but when I am at BWV, I am a walker/jogger, so I get over there at least once a day anyway. You can get refills at the Boardwalk bakery and at the pool bar at BWV.

We own at BWV but stayed 5 nights in each last fall. I was DYING to try BCV b/c everyone raves about it. I can honestly say I like them both the same. I'm sure stormalong bay is fabulous for older kids but at 2 and 5 mine didn't like it b/c of the sand bottom. The love the pool at AKV b/c it's zero entry and no sand. They are both wonderful resorts and I would stay in both again. But, if I can get a standard room at BWV I'll stay there every time to save on points.

Glad to hear there is a non-clown pool! Lol Also, good to know about the refills. We rarely eat at the hotel, but we do use the mugs. As there is a way to get soda etc. then I'm fine with the lack of counter service. Thanks for the info!

I was totally leaning more towards BCV originally until I saw the points difference. With them being so close I think the major difference would be Stormalong Bay, but now that you mention the sand that does sway me in the opposite direction. I hadn't even thought of that so thanks!! I also want to try AKV in the future, but with it just being me and the soon to be tween this time I thought less travel time would be good for this visit.

Hi Neighbor!

From your signature line, I assume you own at the BCV. I would make my reservations for BCV at the 11 month date. At 7 months you can change the reservation if something is available where you want to go. This way you sure you will have a room at one of the resorts you want.

That's an excellent idea! I was so fixated on the points that I wasn't thinking of the actual reservation. Thanks!!

we own at both, but prefer the BWVs.
BCV seems more geared toward very little ones (we find the lobby and pool to be more noisy and chaotic).
the BWVs have community hall, which your DS would probably love (ping-pong, video games, crafts, etc), there are performers on the BW in the eve, and the sweet shoppe sells yummy ice cream (love the BW bakery also).
btw, BW view is AMAZING.....it is one of the best bargains in WDW (and unavailable any where else in the world:cloud9:)
the concern that some have is that there is only one bank of elevators at the BWVs. however, there are lots of stairwells, which we always use to get to our destination quickly.

have a wonderful time!

Thanks for the input Laurie! I keep hearing about the long hallways and elevator grievances at BWV but we rarely take the elevators and I always welcome walking at Disney since I tend to eat way more than usual while we're there! DS wants to go to Typhoon Lagoon this trip so I doubt we'll be at the hotel pool that much anyways, I'm not one for wasting park time lounging at the pool. I keep going back and forth, but I think if I can get it I'm leaning towards BWV.
