I posted this on the regular resort thread, but I wanted to you get a DVC take on things.

We are staying at BWV for the first time in April. It will only be for one night, because we are moving over to OKW for the rest of our stay. We have never stayed at one of the Epcot resorts before so we decided to go down to WDW a day early and try out BW. Our thoughts are to try to get to BW early on arrival day and enjoy the pool (I know the rooms aren't ready until about 4:00 pm). Here are my questions:

1. If you were only staying for one night, what would you
request for a room view?

2. If we stay around the pool on arrival day, is there a place where we can change into our bathing suits? (I'm sure the room won't be ready yet)

3. What would you do that evening? Epcot or MGM or hang around the Boardwalk area and site see?

Any suggestions that anyone has would be helpful. I really wanted to stay BW or BC the entire time, but we got a deal we couldn't pass up at OKW.

Thanks a lot!!

Do you already have a room booked? BWV has 3 views available and they are not requests, they are reserved. Standard view (less points), Pool/Garden, Boardwalk. If you don't already have a reservation, pool/garden is the most likely to be available.

I'd spend the evening in EPCOT's World Showcase - nothing like a nice dinner, followed by IllumiNations and a short walk home.

Best wishes -

We already have reservations for one night and I made requests for the room but I don't know that we'll get what we requested. I would love to have a waterview room!!

I think that sounds like a good idea! I told my husband that we would probably go over to Epcot to see Illuminations that evening, but we don't really want to spend a lot of time in the parks during the day because want our DD to be able to enjoy the pool at BW since we are only there for one night. We moving over to OKW on Sunday night for the rest of our stay.

do you have AP's or regular tickets? I myself would not use up one whole day ticket for just a few hours in the park unless it was an AP. ( JMO)

Spend time at the BWV pool and site see over to BCV, YC/BC and walk over to the Swan/ Dolphin. The lobby in the Dolphin in really cool, your DD might like to see that. :cool1:

Take your DD on a round trip ride on the boat.

then at night enjoy the entertainment on the boardwalk and watch the higher fireworks over the ESPN club from by the Atlantic Dance building and MK fireworks over above the YC/BC. :cheer2: :cheer2:

as for where you are located. call ms and ask . If you can, and it is available, try for a boardwalk view overlooking the water. You can also be put on a waitlist for it and they will change it if it becomes available. Worst case is you will have your original room and your DD will ove the pool. OKW also has a new slide at their pool and a sauna in the lighthouse and a jacuzzi. We discovered the sauna the last full day there and my 14 year old DS ask what you do now in the sauna. I said nothing, just sit here and sweat a bit. He then made the mistake of jumping right in the pool after the sauna. Ahhh...kids. They think they know everything. I told him it would be cold.

You can go on the member website and look up your reservation, it will list the view. Here's what my reservation for June looks like:

Resort / Experience Disney's Boardwalk Villas
Accommodation 1-Bedroom Boardwalk View

I'm not a DVC member though. We have reservations through a DVC member for OKW from Sunday to Friday, but we wanted to stay Saturday night at an Epcot resort so I called CRO and asked if they had anything available and CM said that they had a BWV studio available so I booked it. I've heard that the room assignments were done about 3 days before arrival. I guess we'll just wait and see when we get there. Maybe we'll get lucky and get an upgrade!

If you booked through CRO, there is no view reserved. You get whatever is available when you check-in (what members have not booked). It would be rare that a boardwalk view is not reserved by members.
