I haven't really paid much attention to discussions of occupancy, because we usually stay off site. We have a family of five. I would swear I have read on these boards that you can put 5 in a 1 bedroom. However, the website says 4. Can anyone clarify this?
I scored a Beach Club Villas one bedroom through a RCI exchange for next July (and have it on hold) and would like to use it, but can't eliminate one child!

Thanks

Julia

I'm so sorry, I just found another post that indicates this subject isn't allowed. I'm sorry; I didn't realize (don't frequent these DVC Boards much).

Sorry

Julia

You will be allowed to have 5 in a 1 bedroom but there will only be beds and bedding for 4, so you will need to bring an aerobed or similar and bedding. Or you could put 3 kids in the king bed and 2 adults on the queen pullout. DVC does not provide cots.

Will that mean that I will be able to get KTTW for all of us? I don't want to sneak around.

We will probably only do the parks a couple of days-no early entry either. But we will want to lounge around the pool, go the water parks and so on.

I have to confirm or release my RCI hold by tonight.

Yes, you'll be allowed to get KTTW for each person, but the extra bedding is your own responsibility.

You might want to check with RCI to verify occupancy before your hold expires- since most timeshare exchanges are strict about occupancy requirements. It would be better to know in advance rather than at arrival and find yourself in a bind.

While the advice here may be valid for DVC members, there may well be a different standard for exchangers.

Good luck!

Make sure everyone is registered to the room so there wont be any problems with the KTTW cards. I have had 5 to a 1BR at BWV but I was upfront about and the CM just made sure I knew about no 5th set of linens.
Hope it works out with RCI.

Do you mean when I check in? For my last exchange, we had 4 people, and I just gave the names at check in.

DVC allows 5 in a 1 BR but with a King and pull out queen things will be tight. RCI is more strict and the rules for exchanges are technically more stringent and in the past have stated strict occupancy of 4 for a normal 1 BR unit. I'd keep the exchange and give it until Tuesday then call DVC and list 5, I doubt you'll have any issues. DVC won't be able to do anything until they get confirmation which will likely NOT be until Tuesday. If you can't take the chance either cancel or call RCI and get a commitment that you can cancel as late as Tuesday without penalty. I had two 1 BR exchanges to AKV this past year and RCI was able to give me enough time to be sure the units were at least in the same building and would have allowed me to cancel if they were not.
