BWV Oct 2011 Waitlist - Odds?

We are waitlisted (got on the list in May) for a BWV 2BR Pref View and any studio in Oct 2011, a six night stay starting on a Friday. Anyone have experience getting on the waitlist this far out for that time period, I would appreciate the insight?

We are making our latest trip for the first time with a one year old and were hoping to get in at BWV so we could minimize the stroller loading and unloading by being at a resort with boat access to a couple of the parks. We've been many times, but this is the first with our DD, so I'm a little nervous.

Also, is there anything I should know about getting on the waitlist? There always seems to be some helpful tip I read about (after the fact of course! )

We got our waitlist yesterday for a Pool/Garden View Studio at BWV for 10/14 - 10/16. Was on the WL since mid March.

MS can only tell you that you are on the list, they don't have a way to determine where you are on the list.

6 months out for Oct. you need 2 bedroom and studio. good luck but it will be tough getting both for 6 nts each.

During F&W it seems that BCV and BWV are really booked up solid, I would think a night or two might become available but getting all six for both rooms will be really hard. I hope you have a backup?

I would keep calling and book whatever is available, and try to add on as time goes by. Maybe 2-3 nights are available; book them, and try to piece the trip together that way? Just a thought.

Just called to cancel a waitlist and they had BWV garden view studio for the week of 10/23...you might try to reserve what's there and then piece it all together.

It will be difficult to get all 6 nights together on a waitlist.

We have been on the WL for a bw/preferred studio at BWVs since March for the week of 10/22-10/29 and nothing yet. We are also on the WL for BCVs as well. We are booked at OKW for the same time and won't be terribly disappointed if either one doesn't come through as we love OKW, too. Just thought it would be easier for my DH to get to two parks since he will have a scooter. Good luck!

Had a waitlist for BWV standard view for 10/15 (1 night) that came through today).

We already had a 2BR for 10/16-10/23 but needed an extra night as we're arriving the day before. Originally was at OKW, but wanted to avoid switching hotels. Can't avoid switching rooms, but not having to leave the hotel will be nice.

It's a linked reservation so hopefully can get a parking pass good the entire time and only need to exchange keys.

We are booked at SSR right now, so we have a back up, but sure would like to get in at BWV so we aren't having to load and unload a stroller every day of the trip. I will call MS and see if they can piece-meal the reservation day by day rather than trying to get the whole week booked. Thank you for the helpful tips!

We are waitlisted for Columbus Day weekend for OKW and BWV since June. We just wanted a studio, nothing special since it's F&W, but we aren't used to planning more than 6 months ahead for most vacations...

After no success we started calling weekly to find out if we could piece our vacation together and luckily got OKW for the 11-15; then a week later added the 10th. Now we are just calling almost daily to find out if any individual nights are available at any resort...they seem to be booked solid everywhere.

We won't be terribly upset if we don't get it, we'll just bid on priceline for a resort nearby, but we are hoping we don't have to.

I am really hoping that spots will open up for the weekend and we can instead use the $$$ towards F&W. We are seriously hoping for

Since you have a small child, BLT might be a good resort. You will have monorail access to MK and EP, and can walk to MK.

The points charts might not be to your liking though.

We used to stay at the Contemporary before DVC and thought the transportation was very convenient. We were usually in the South Wing so we just took the monorail.

There is just something to be said for being that close to MK.

We have been on a waitlist for a studio, standard view, for October 22nd - 28th since April. No luck so far.
